riquelme wont fit, weve got xabi... we cant afford to have two players walking on the pitch, (not a slag at xabi, its just the way they play, theyre awesome like that, but two players would be too much)

If morientes stays and cisse leaves... it would be based on favouritism... cisse brings much more to the team as a striker, keeps the centrebacks on their toes, and creates space for others, even when he was playing like crap, hes speed was a worry the other teams had to keep an eye on, thus giving space to players like stevie, garcia, crouch, kewell etc... i know i've always liked cisse but imo he's much more of a danger man that el moro will ever be at this stage in his career

i think i liked xabi's assist to gerrards goal better, it was a planned pass, not like that hopefull punt upfield for garcias 1st... lol

Showed he can do a job for us against wba... we just need to play to his strenghts... good passing from xabi allowed him to have one of his better games hes been getting better in the last few games, more awareness towards teamates... i wouldnt be in a rush to sell him unless we get a decent offer... 7m upwards dont know if its me, but all the lads seem to like him now, whereas a couple of months ago it seemed he wasnt appreciated on the pitch...

stevie never gets booked for challenges he should be... don't know if its because he's the team captain or because the refs' are in awe of him, but he always gets away with some bad tackles

I like the lad, he's a bit childish but has a good heart, good person in my eyes... he's character... good to have around, don't think he has any trouble with the other players

i was actually thinking how crap our bench was in terms of options... with stevie gone we had to keep a hold of the ball so crouch was never going to come off. warnock and kromkamp were never going to come in if the match was not done and dusted, finnan and riise are better options, kewell was playing well. we need more players like riise, zenden, garcia, gerrard who can play a number of positions if required. we couldnt have changed the game with no one from the bench, we werent going to play two strikers and thats the only way robbie couldve gone in, we lacked midfield options imo. we couldve play a midfield three of sissoko xabi and someone like zenden with kewell/garcia just below crouch/morientes but we didnt have that extra man, i think we need a kevin nolan type player that might fit that central midfield role giving us options both attacking and defending to a certain extent, xabi stays in the middle of the field (thats where he is more effective) momo runs back, stevie runs foward, hamman stays back, box to box midfield maybe? thats what stevie used to be, now he stays foward more to our advantage. i think im just rambling here, hope u guys find my point hehe

Haha... serioulsy though he had a lot of confidence today, dribbling pretty well, rafa shouldve left him on for the hat trick, moro took his goal well, cisse had luck but at least he made space for himself to take a shot. Riise's was spectacular... Loved our passing as well...

Thought it was pretty funny... El Moro was talking to Cisse while wearing the goggles saying where's the ball where's the ball and then smacked himself on the face... Dudek too couldnt see s*** in them... Thought it was funny... Was a bit worried that Momo didnt have them on though TBH

who the fook cares for what he did, its not like he was insulting them like ronaldo did when he gave the finger to the benfica fans, or neville's angry taunting at us... he was having fun, we were just up 3-1... they were having a go at him, he just laughed at them (with the hand gesture)... stevie has put his tongue out at the crowd and so did crouch against us... we won he scored the peno, no need for a 7 page thread discussing this crap... rant over.

think riise would be perfect for that role though thought the system worked out, at the beggining of the match hyypia was a little out of position, but the lads worked that out... only complain if there is any its that the wingbacks need to attack a bit more, stevie went missing at times too, good game for didi, kewell posed a threat the entire match, and I think crouch and cisse did their jobs...

Fairplay to the lad Cisse had a good game before he scored... then he dilluted himself.... Im not going to say he was incredible or that he was schite, but he looked as if he cared tracking back, running after some lost balls, and putting some pressure on newcastles defence... good cross for stevies goal, imo if he keeps it up, we shouldnt sell him unless we get a considerable amount of money for him...

i was thinking of this before he scored tonight though...
