I'm not laying blame at their door. I am saying that if they had brought in Kenny sooner, we would probably be in a better league position now and a positon more likely to make our chances of top 4 look more realistic.

It was a very long and costly 12 weeks though. If he'd been sacked in November and Kenny came in, would we have maybe beaten Wigan and Stoke away under Kenny? Would we have gone to Newcastle and won? Would we have beaten Wolves at home and Blackburn away? If so, we would now be on 46 points and in the title race, let alone challenging for top 4. Would that have still made Torres want to go? All ifs and buts, and i'm not for one minute saying it's as simple as that, of course it isnt. But i do think the 12 week period has been costly, in more ways than one.

Cheers for the clarification mate. Let's hope you are spot on with this one, too. If Torres didnt/doesnt want the request to have been put in, there's nowt stopping him from withdrawing it now. Maybe someone should tap him on the shoulder and remind him of that.

Just to clarify Kev, is there a suggestion that Torres himself doesnt/didnt want to go, but the agent has persuaded him otherwise?

The original 'snippet' was about a big name player, and the guy said himself that he didnt know specifically who. But point taken re the chelsea fan with 20 followers, and others of similar ilk.

Unless someone knows of a proven 'track record', wasnt that 'SteBreeze' or whatever his name was, who first broke the whole 'big player departure on friday' story also an 'unknown' ?
