  1. Not a chance. The two pleb owners we had before and Diouf are miles ahead of him in the 'hate' stakes.
  2. Aye, that's the catch-22 situation right there. I want to go there and piss on his pathetic 'unbeaten' record - and i want him relegated. But i also want him to bring his no-mark team back to Anfield next season, so he can face the music. Both cant happen unfortunately.

It certainly does. But both have looked like doing so as well. Which is quite nice. If we somehow nicked 4th after half a season of the Hodgson handicap, it'd be the greatest comeback since Lazarus rose from the dead. Or Istanbul.
  4. Cheers for that. Taking it with a pinch of salt due to the source, but the fact that there was absolutely no mention of anything on the offal makes me think and hope he is fine. When he pulled up with the injury, it did cross my mind whether it was a useful ploy to avoid the internationals But he's fiercely patriotic, so i dont think he'd pull a sickie to miss a Uruguay game - more's the pity.
  5. That very first bit doesnt scan. Fell at the first hurdle "His name is Luis Suarez" works, if you want those lyrics. Nowt wrong with 'when i think of Suarez' though. Quite simple really: When i think of Suarez, I know he is a Red, I just cant get enough, I just cant get enough, When he scores a volley or when it's with his head, I just cant get enough, I just cant get enough, He scores a goal and the Kop goes wild, And I just cant seem to get enough Suarez.... Etc etc. Easy as that. By the way, while i'm in the Suarez thread - any word of his injury? Looked like he'd done his groin, but i've not heard anything about it since. Just a scare was it?

Exactly what i think too. I understand the whole 'we need 2 clubs to feck up instead of just one' and yes it makes it harder and less likely, but those 2 are hardly romping home towards the finish line. Both have not only been stuttering, but also show signs that they will continue stuttering.
  7. I think teams will drop far more points than people would 'normally' expect them to. This stage of the season does all sorts of weird shyte to teams, and that's in a 'regular' season, let alone this bizarre one. Plus, the fact that so many sides are still yet to secure their PL safety means that there are far less 'nothing to play for' opponents left. I know Kenny will always tell the media about 'one game at a time' and 'just add up the points at the end and see where we are' - but privately, i am sure the possibility of nicking 4th has been in his thoughts and he wont give up or rule us out of it while it remains a mathematical possibility.
  8. Extremely unlikely that we'll win all 8. On the plus side though, we actually have a nice break and good preparation time between each game, which about half our opponents wont have. 7 wins out of 8 would still give us a chance of sorts. WBA (a) City (h) Arsenal (a) Birmingham (h) Newcastle (h) Fulham (a) Spurs (h) Villa (a) If key players can stay fit and we can keep confidence high, all barring Arsenal away look very winnable.
  9. I agree with you. Have yourself a wowipop
  10. That thought crossed my mind too, if i'm honest. Maybe a combined impact of Suarez's spark and the massively increased aerial threat that Carroll gives us, could do just about be enough. But yeah, they're very physically stronged and well-drilled at the back, so it will be a test for our less-than-flair-ridden midfield.

Totally agree with this. Tevez and Silva aside, they dont have anyone who looks like providing any consistent goal threat or creativity. City resemble a tightrope walker having things chucked at him.

How do you reach that conclusion? Personally, i think City are very vulnerable - lack of spririt and unity, in-fighting, pressure that comes with the money spent, lack of creativity in the side. And, interestingly, 13 points dropped in their last 7 league games. They are anything but a 'safe bet' at the moment.
  13. Well if you consider that 16 points from 8 games = 2 pts per match which, this season, looks to be nigh-on title-winning form. Do City strike you as a side who will produce anything close to title-winning form between now and the end of the season? I wouldnt personally say so. Put it this way, looking at City's last 8 games, i honestly cant even pick out 2 games where i would definitively back them to win, with any decent amount of money. Their lack of cohesion and team spirit is one thing, their less-than-attacking mentality is another, and the pressure of this stage of a season, where stupid results crop up is a third - combine all three, and i dont think it's beyond the realms of possibility. City look vulnerable to me. I think that 24 points would leave us with a very decent chance of 4th. 21 points - a slimmer chance, obviously, but still a chance. 8 games left for them - 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats isnt inconceivable, is it? Especially if you bear in mind that we can inflict one of those defeats on them ourselves.
  14. Beat City at anfield too, and i honestly think we *could* even scrape 4th. Massively tall order, but it's more about what we do, than what City/Spurs do, because i think they both WILL drop the points. City still have to come to us, and also have to play Spurs, plus Bolton and the bitters away. City, with their lack of team unity and cohesion, looks very vulnerable. Spurs' CL participation will cost them too. Their run-in is unpleasant to say the least, with visits to Anfield, Chelsea and City, plus Arsenal to play at WHL. When it comes to City and Spurs, for different reasons, even their 'easy' games dont look like gimmes. 21 or more points for us, and i think we'll be mighty close.
  15. Brilliant fumble there for Juusi jask....tw*t.
  16. Surprise, fecking surprise....
  17. Even if the mancs draw, an Arsenal comeback and win would make it superb.
  18. Arsenal equalise
  19. He went right over the ball, studs showing - and 2 yards in front of the ref too. Holden not going to carry on, must have a deep gash. Nani will surely come out and slate Evans for that kind of tackle....wont he?
  20. Was a filthy tackle. Straight red, should be 3 games ban.
  21. Un-fecking-believable. Bottlers of the highest orders.
  22. Arsenal just hit the bar and missed a sitter from the rebound.
  23. Incredible to think that, with 9 games left, had we managed to have beaten spurs at their place (we should've been 2-0 or even 3-0 up at HT), we'd currently be 1 point off them - and that would've been with us having suffered the abomination that is Hodgson for half a season. Even now, if we could win tomorrow, 4 points off Spurs with 8 games left and them still to come to anfield, is mental. Truly insane league.
  24. When the going gets tough, Arsenal are utterly dire.
  25. They're very strong at home, yeah. And that's continued to this season. They havent lost to a side of Fulham's ilk this season though.
