So, your note that we sold and bought Nunez was true but a little more nuanced. If we sell Fabinho to get Bellingham. No problem. It’s a gamble but he could be worth nothing like Keita and Ox we keep him too long, as we have with them, and if he continues this decline. He could be great again but we don’t sell with the benefit of hindsight so realising value before a drop isn’t a problem for me.

FSG sanctioned record deals of 65M for Alisson and 75m for Virgil. 100M for Bellingham would represent the same value but with the upside of a much higher prospect of a big sell on fee after several years. I think we will buy him if we get top 4. It makes sense.

Thanks, I read the article and agree that such criticism of a cloak, the winter timing, alcohol ban all come across as arrogant and as if only a European, or even Christian, viewpoint counts. Nonetheless, other views are right such as it being entirely wrong to not let people wear rainbow hats and armbands at the World Cup to show their solidarity with LGBT. The way this debate carries on now, is mostly just point scoring, and some people come across very poorly.

Clearly the people debating in this thread aren’t going to agree, so perhaps try ‘agreeing to disagree’ and move on without the implication that it’s because one side is racist, that is a cop out.

Is Bellingham rated as highly as Musiala? Every time i have seen him he looks fantastic but i havent seen as much of JB. If he is then the 100m makes more sense.

So? Bellingham was playing in the championship when Dortmund signed him. Haaland in the Austrian league. There is a supply of would-be top tier players that we undoubtedly identify but leave until the next move, by which time we are outbid - unless they haven’t done particularly well. We need to be braver.

The ones like Tchouameni. This time last year I hadn’t heard of him but the club obviously had. Now he’s a key player for Real Madrid and France. Secure those - there will be more this year and every other year.

The likelihood is more that, it would be great if he did, rather than there actually being anything concrete. Be interesting as to who will buy it, seeing as a very, very good trader has decided this is the time to sell.

When deciding what to do, 2 years ago, the club didn’t have the benefit of hindsight. 2 years later, I suspect the club too, wishes they had sold them all. You are not alone.
