  1. No worries....it's just me trying to find some light at the end of the goal-less tunnel
  2. Hence why fyds mentioned Fowler's ability By whom?
  3. Feel free to kick me bum if I am wrong but from your description, the only mental picture I get at the moment is Hristo Stoichkov. Feck me....that's one hell of a player to have
  4. Agree but i thought we were on a slight acendacy until the red card
  5. Agree. As good a player Henry is, I don't think he would've out-musled and left Terry flat on his face the way little Ronnie did
  6. Well, we have handled Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf and Sheva quite well before so I honestly have no fear if they do sign Ballack and Shevchenko.
  7. Nevermind recent times.......Marco Van Basten
  8. Yeah and all that despite being anonymous through most of the match. Still dislike Argentina though Tell him to go have a w@nc
  9. Which is precisely why I feel that to mark Henry out of a match is easier compared to little Ronnie.....a player like that can never be kept quite for 90 mins unless of course he's out of sorts or of form. At times he's hardly in the match and then BANG goes a winner. Remember Maradona in the 1990 World Cup against Brazil?
  10. And I'm still waiting to see that happen
  11. It was against Bradford City wasn't it?
  12. and also the "are you George Courtney in disguise" chants throughout the match
  13. LOL at the look on McDonald's face after he blasted the ball over when through in the closing stages of the match
  14. Looking forward to seeing Carra t*** Diouf at anfield
  15. Hope someone from UEFA is reading this. How much fun would we have watching Chelsea players getting legitimately whacked, elbowed and fouled and the referee just waves play-on thinking it's just theatrics
  16. So sad to hear this. RIP Denise My condolences to Gary Mac and Family YNWA
  17. Thank God for the glorious 80s
  18. Now that you've mentioned it....back in the 70s and 80s live football in this part of the World was almost unheard off bar a few matches from the local league (which was admittedly good to watch at that time. Now it's s***). As such club football never received the kind of coverage given to the World Cup and so it was the likes of Brazil and Argentina that were familiar to me in football when i first learnt about the sport. I never had the opportunity to watch any league matches other than a few higlights in the news. But the first club football match i watched in full was one of the best things that could've happened to me. The 1981 European Cup final when we beat Madrid (thanks to my uncle who was working with a local Tv station at that time and got me the tape of the whole match the following year). My favourite colour has always been Red so when the team in Red emerged victorious, I just fell in love with them and at the tender age of 8, i became a Liverpool fan. Well, it could've been worse.....my first experience could've been Everton v Rapid Vienna........and if that was the case, I can just picture myself right now doing some serious soul searching with efcrmagic
  19. Agree. The goal seems perfectly valid to me. How it was given offside I dont know. But you never know we might just have a repeat of that this year. Can you imagine Michael Owen mouthing off telling us not to bother turning up because we can't score goals and for Heighway, Keegan and Toshack read Kewell, Fowler and Crouch But unfortunately, Robbie wont be able to do a Keegan Lucky buggers..... But it's not my fault for being born almost a month after the final
  20. Just finished watching it. Ironically, it was also the year i was born . Watching Fagan walk on the pitch to take Keegans track top, Emlyn Hughes and Moncur at the toss, Shankly flanked by Sir Bob and Ronnie Moran urging the team on throughout the match, Shanks turning to the crowd to celebrate our goals and looking anxious despite us being 3-0 up, McDonald ballooning his shot towards the end when clean through , Hughes lifiting the FA Cup....brilliant, absolutely brilliant.....What a great match it was. Anyone here went to Wembley to watch the match? It must have been a sensational outing.
  21. But they all pledge the same don't they only to turn out to be complete C*cks
  22. I don't exactly know what it is but there's something about Pepe and the way he commands his area that makes me feel he won't do a Dudek next season. He will have the odd howler here and there which happens to almost every goalie. When Dudek signed he was in his late 20s if i remember correctly so it was probably hard to say how much further he can improve but Pepe is so young and he can only get better. Poor Carson though
  23. 70s - Emlyn Hughes 80s - Paul Jewell 90s - Fowler 00s Carra
  24. Unfortunately the CWC is out of commission, a feat the CL never managed
