And I'd expect you to blame people on an internet forum for the debacle our season turned into rather than the manager.
-
I think it's in the best interests of the club that he goes so I will feel pleased and have little regret for him; and when his replacement is announced, and the club changes hands, and players leave/retire and new players arrive/break through I will still support Liverpool football club as I have done for over 40 years. Regardless of how long he stays Rafa has only ever been a temporary custodian of our football club, some of this public hand-wringing and attempts to blame all and sundry for forcing him out is frankly embarassing. The most disheartening thing this season isn't the performances or our lack of quality/confidence. It's how a large portion of our fans have acted towards our manager and some of our players. It's nothing short of disgusting, and rips the heart out of our club more than s**** owners, a disillusioned manager, and underperforming players ever could. And this is frankly ridiculous s***.
-
I wasn't talking about any move in particular if you actually wanna read the post.
-
Why? Is taking part in one move what we expect from an £11M international striker these days? If you can't see past Kuyt's ridiculous workrate to how limited he is as a FOOTBALLER then just keep quiet.
-
So was Reina if you go back far enough, performances like tonight just highlight for me what a limited footballer Kuyt is.
-
In his prematch interview he stated that he's always played as a striker before he came to Liverpool, is it his fault he actually isn't a winger at all? I thought he did well tonight to be honest, only watched it live on TV so feel free to moan and bitch but the commentators both said near the end he was close to man of the match. I don't agree with that because Aquilani and Mascherano were f***ing brilliant but to slag him off for being played out of position is a bit rich. FWIW I'd like to see him get a run up front but doubt it will happen. You don't go from being player of the tournament and captain of the winners in the Euro U-21's to being a no-brain useless f***-up overnight.
-
Tonight he was excellent and against a good, tough, physical side. Easily his best performance for us that I've seen, some of the quick passing through our midfield was like watching Barcelona! And then Dirk got on the end of it!
-
Was he really, in between missing whole chunksof the last three seasons he had a few good performances for Roma, which has no bearing on the Premier league or his suitability for it at all, f*** me Dossena didn't look totally useless in the Italian league did he you tool? There should be more to our scouting department than Youtube clips, and Rafa should stand or fall on his use of the money thats been available to him, and over the last couple of seasons he's been questionable at best. Riera, Keane, Aquilani, Dossena, Degen represent around £60M. worth of purchases, hardly well spent is it.
-
Which is one of the points being made regarding why we bought him! If Rafa's come out and said he wasn't bought to play CM and replace Alonso then the only conclusion to draw from that is that Rafa saw Masch and Lucas as his CM pairing going into this season, and for that alone Rafa's got to go. £17M+ on a player and he doesn't actually know where he's going to play him, and the guy's been injured for 3 years on and off, still injured and recovering from an operation when we spent all that money on him and surprisingly still isn't fit by f***ing Easter! And we're playing the least creative CM in the history of the PL and out of all the competitions and fighting for 6th/7th place in the PL!!!!! It is unfair to call him a s*** player as we've hardly seen him - surely it's also wrong to call him a good player as well then? - but it is fair to say that he has been a s*** buy so far and most definitely not what we wanted or needed. I've got a bad feeling he'll be a more expensive Pennant, bought just to spend the money and that would be criminal!
-
Typical bulls*** coming from our fans these days and little short of a disgrace. Aquilani has been injuryprone in Italy for the last 3 seasons, Rafa signs him for £17M+ and surprisingly he's injuryprone here for the whole season when we needed someone to replace Alonso, Rafa says he's been bought for 5 seasons not just one, hardly surprising really, and that's OK? Do we get 20% back because he's already been injured for 20% of his contract? And "The real problem lies with Stevie" ????????????? The real problem lies with both fans and managers who see it as a good thing to try and move one of the world's greatest players round to accomodate and carry a player who's not anywhere near his level, presumably to try and make a bizarre waste of a lot of money look like a good signing. Everyone says Rafa needs more money well look what he's done spending the last £60M+ of it! Why did Rafa buy AA? He's not a genuine CM so he's no replacement for Alonso, he can't defend or tackle which makes him highly suspect in the PL, he's massively injuryprone and it's well documented so he's always either injured or getting over an injury, he's wasteful in possession which is very unrafalike in a player, and he's sickly catching every bug known to man. Do we have a scouting system at all and where does Rafa's responsibility lie in this and Keane's transfer? His last two £20M playwers have both been massive flops, Keane apparently lacked intelligence - did no-one notice? And Aquilani is unsuitable for the role he was needed to play, and ismade of glass and was suffering from a longterm injury when we spunked £17M on him?
-
Another forward with "Game intelligence" instead of pace?
-
So are Arazel and MFletcher related or the same person with two forum identities??
-
Isn't Jovanic(sp?) supposed to be our new foil/back-up for Torres?
-
Oh my god, it's stereo bulls***! What difference does his previous career have on Mfletchers statement that he's an astute signing? Pair of bellends to be honest. And pace does matter, any attempt to prove otherwise is a waste of time.
-
An Incredibly astute signing on the basis of two VERY GOOD performances against Portsmouth and Sunderland at home??? Get a grip msn FFS. FWIW I think he's a neat, tidy footballer who yesterday especially linked up very well with Stevie and Torres. Ultimately I think his lack of pace will stop him being so effective against the top teams, and we really can't accomodate a team of neat, tidy, slow players.
-
Yes I do, and i remember Fletcher crossing for Park to score the winner on Sunday. Regarding the mobility of either Masch or Lucas against either one of Fletcher or Carrick you're just wrong, really really wrong!
-
Total myth and utter b******s. Fletcher in particular is far more mobile, dynamic and attacking than Lucas or Masch will ever be - did you see his chip for Rooney's header away at AC Milan i think?. It really makes me wonder how on Earth United are doing so well with a midfield of allegedly average defensive players like Fletcher and Carrick, a huge waste of money in Anderson and two grandads in Scholes and Giggs - especially when we have the majestic talent of Lucas, Argentina's captain and "best defensive midfielder in the world" Mascherano and £20M worth of injured Italian genius in AA. And ask yourself who buys all these average, slow, defensive wide midfield players like Kuyt, Riera, Maxi etc?????
-
Yes it is, we have with Aquilani.
-
Is he? There's notmuch in it i'll readily admit but Andersson is a squad player and Lucas is first choice for us. And i really am leaving it there.
-
But we do have a short team don't we? Its great if your 3rd choice keeper is 8 feet tall because it proves your point but in reality we are a small team weak in the air, and i don't really care what you think about it. As for pace in the side, we're always going to struggle when most strikers are very much quicker than all/most of our defenders. Johnson can hold his own but he's not on the pitch much, Carra and the Greek are slow, Skrtel Insua and Agger are average at best. United have Brown Ferdinand and Evra who are lightening quick, Vidic runs into trouble when players get him for pace which more and more are doing. Arsenal have all defenders who could sprint in the Olympics, Chelsea have Carvalho, Cole, Bosingwa, ivan??? etc who are all faster than all of our defenders. So we defend deep, we struggle to connect play up because 2/3 of our side are slow and defending around the edge of our box, Gerrard and Torres are stuck up front looking for balls over the top etc, etc, etc.
-
Look, I'm not gonna turn this into another me slagging off Rafa's players thread as I have been trying to leave that alone until the end of the season - but I think Lucas is a poor player who struggles to look average in our team while Fletcher looks outstanding in Uniteds team. I really don't get the need from our supporters to try and slag off other teams players to make ours look better, Fletcher would walk into our midfield in either CM or RM, Lucas wouldn't get onto their bench and thats with Scholes and Giggs both pushing 40. And I'm leaving it there.
-
My Dads a United fan and i know what he's thought about him all along, he's always had a bit about him and was always expected to do well. Roy Keane is one of the great midfield players of his generation, he,s a horrible c*** and a s*** manager - he's never rated anyone and why on Earth his opinion is relevant when he's been proven so wrong is beyond me. Fletcher is far better than Lucas, I know he's nearly 3 yhears older but there's no comparison. And why Hassony says he'd be s*** for a s*** team??? How crap would Lucas be???
-
Fletcher is one of United's best players, he's actually a very good player and is their best Centre midfielder, he's also pretty decent at RM as well.
-
Pace is a huge necessity and getting more important by the year, we are easily the slowest team in the Premier league - easily.
-
What utter b******s, Torres must love playing for us right now musn't he? All we do is hoof the f***ing ball at him so every CB in the league can wipe him out. I bet he really loves running his a*** off with the huge talent of Kuyt alongside him. It's blindingly obvious that the players won't play for him, wake up!
