players and agents often falsely indicate they'd be interested in moving just to get a better deal from their existing clubs or someone else. You'd be naive to think it couldn't happen to us.

At the end of the day, we are going to be more ambitious with our signings this summer... so if you think about it, these negotitations will take longer than in the past. Yes, by this time last year we had Bellamy wrapped up, but that was an extremely straightforward deal and we didnt have any competition for his signature. I would expect each lots of competition from others clubs for each of our targets this year. It looks like we've made a move for Torres a couple of days after the Spanish league wrapped up. Can't get much quicker than that!
