  1. Yeah, they showed it front-on just before the team graphics were shown. "The Truth" in big letters, easily readable. Just saw most of it again as the camera faced The Kop. One of the commenatry team even explained that the mosaic was in protest about Kelvin MacKenzie. No attempt to try and hide it as far as I can see.
  2. Now we're cooking.

    Kelvin McKenzie

    Signed without a second thought.
  6. Get in. This is doing our goal difference no harm at all, which is potentially important with the top half of the table so tight (Man U and Chelsea notwithstanding).
  7. We all dream of a team of Carraghers!
  8. Ah, I see. Pff, meaningless game.
  9. Is it completely meaningless? I mean, if we lose by enough, and PSV win by enough, they could top the group. Doesn't topping the group mean that we'd be at home in the second leg of the knockout round, which is advatageous? Or maybe it isn't. I suppose being away in the second leg means we get more "away goal potential" if it's tied after normal time. Hmm, well, maybe it is meaningless after all, 'cause both situations are advantageous in their own way. I'll shut up.
  10. Godlike.
  11. So, one tables an incisive questions, relevant to the politics of the day, then when called upon pull the old switcheroo and ask the real one. O_o

I see what he means about La Bombonera being like a colosseum. I'd be pretty happy with that. Shame it's not on all 4 sides, though. I don't like the gaps in the ring.
  13. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's Kuyt Strikeula! Huzzah!
  14. Damp squib, really.
  15. I reckon there'd still be more than enough people that rank getting a season ticket above pride in not sharing a stadium with Everton. Who cares if the blue lot don't sell their STs? =)
  16. There were people singing "You're not singing any more" against Maccabi Haifa (sp?) on Wednesday. To be quite honest, I don't have much of a problem with that, or "who are ya?" or "easy! easy!" and I think it's a bit precious to claim that "real fans" (should) only sing YNWA, Scouser Tommy or FOAR* (I know there are those that wouldn't even include FOAR in the list of "acceptable" terrace songs - to those people I also roll my eyes and reiterate the "get a grip" posted earlier in this thread). (*I realise no one has actually claimed that, but that's the inference I draw from comments.)
  17. That was almost 2 years ago, when he was 2. He's turning 4 on Sunday. The indoctrination started young, but as Anny Road points out, peer pressure and wanting to "fit in" at school may be a key factor. He starts school in a few weeks... I may be failing, though. When I was in Istanbul (\o/), the rest of the family watched the final on telly at home. My daft kid decided he wanted the "ones in white" to win. Needless to say, I have steered him back toward the path of right at any opportunity. I dare say I'll be taking him to his first game, soon. Shame about the blue bottle, mind. Wife's doing, that.
  18. Damn, sussed.
  19. Too much white. Too Middlesbrough. The collar looks crap. Not one I'll be buying, I dare say. Might talk the wife into buying for me, though.
  20. You sure it's not some continental thing, my eur0 friend? =)
  21. I've heard the phrase, and I said I'd keep the flame for sentimental/memorial reasons. I don't think it needs the gates, though. I don't think I'm alone in wishing for a return to a simpler crest.
  22. See, I think that's just clutter. Shankly was a hero, but we have the gates at Anfield. To be perfectly honest, if it weren't for reasons of memorial, I'd do away with the 'eternal flame', too, as I think that's also clutter as far as a clean emblem goes. I realise that's unlikely to be a popularly held view, and I'd keep it for reasons of sentiment, anyway.
  23. Works for me. I had a go at mocking one up earlier, but my graphics skills are sorely lacking (not to mention the lack of the correct font). Something like that would be far superior to the over-fussy crest we have now, I think.
