I also have a potential problem. Subscribed to Setanta online last night and as of this morning all the channels are available but the red interactive 'subscribe now' button is showing on setanta one and two. Am I actually now subscribed or are they showing the channels free to everyone at the moment? I don't want to find the channel gets scrambled at 5-14pm :worried:

Pepe is fundamental to the way we play, he's like Brucie - aggressive, a sweeper as well as a keeper, consequently he'll be caught out of position on occasion, but he allows us to play a higher defensive line and if the rest of the team were doing their jobs we'd be forcing play into the opposition half and Pepe would have feck all to do except rush out to clear the odd hopeful ball over the top by the other team. He's still trying to do this (as he was last season) but behind a porous defence and midfield. He's being let down by his team mates IMHO.

maybe i got a little bit ahead of myself

Unfortunately as far as winning the league goes the bar has been raised massively in the last three or four years, look at the points total of the eventual Champions. I don't think you can win the league if you lose more than two or three games all season and we've already lost one after three games. We're already in a situation where we have to get something away at Chelsea or we'll be 11 points behind the mancs, or 'only' 8 if we win the game in hand. Which would mean needing to beat them home and away and still be 2 points behind. It's a worry -
We'll have the last laugh. We always do.

Misunderestimated geniuses, thank you very much

Yeah, but even though we've been given permission to go ahead this issue will keep rearing its ugly head in the future. Imagine in 10 years that the slime are still in their pit and we want permission to expand to 70k. What do you think the council will suggest we do to allow said expansion? We should keep saying no, even when its not required. Just to make damn sure it doesn't happen.

Err, no speako frenchie. Unless it's some sort of Caeser Box or summat Not if he gets Rushies looks and Eriks goal tally.

That'd be me and the club finished. It would make no sense on any level. Give the people who would happily see us all die a leg up? Inextricably link our future with the blues****'s finances? No chance.

He now reminds me of that albino killer monk chappie off the Da Vinci Code

Is right. Now we have all the table legs, lampshades, couches and hatstands that he needs to construct the perfect room to outdo everyone in the road from the nouveau riche Russian t***s at the end of the road to the scabby pikey lot next door who hate us but want to share our new house.

I think what he means is Pennant in = Gerrard in the middle = Sissoko out, Sissoko in = Gerrard on the right = Pennant out. Of course there'll be occasions where both Gerrard and Pennant play, but we can't second guess Rafa. As won't most managers. I'm sure there'll be times when we still end up with Krompy on the right and Rise on the left etc etc. There's no such thing as a first choice XI any more.

Seriously, are any of those any good. Just look at that Blackburn Away one

Agger? And Carson was at the World Cup.

Groundshare won't happen. As I see it there's 5 possibilities: 1. We pay for it 50:50 with the shyte. They can't afford it 2. The council pay for the ground and we both rent. The council can't afford it. 3. We pay for it and the shyte become rent-paying tenants. The rabids wouldn't accept that surely? Being in the reds**** pocket? They'd rather die. 4. We pay for most of it and the council pay the rest as long as the shyte can play there and are allowed to say they co-own it just to save face. I'd rather die. 5. The project collapses and we have to look outside Anfield for a new ground. I'd rather 5 than any kind of groundshare/leg up for the 'murderers' chanters :fvckthecvnts:

Even if that was true, it certainly isn't now. We'll be keeping Djibs, obviously, and I guess losing Defoe. But if the rest of them came off I'd be ecstatic
-
True. For me, Kirkland is one of those keepers that need to be constantly involved in a game to show their worth, he's looked better at the Baggies than he ever did for us. Perhaps he stiffens up or summat if he has long periods of inactivity in a game because I only remember him for the times where he would be stood rigid on the goal line watching the ball trickle into the corner on the one attack the opposition would have. I certainly don't remember him pulling off any top class saves like Pepe or Jerzy, or even as good as the one Carson made from Del Piero. I just don't think he's good enough for a top club but will do a good job for a second-tier side, he's the new Brad Friedel.

If you were centi-millionaire or billionaire (worth £1bn)
reniformis replied to a topic in Liverpool FC
would you buy Liverpool FC? Without doubt How much of your own money would you invest? I'd invest in total anything up to half. As I do now, but with a lot less money left over Would you increase ticket prices? I'd increase it massively for the Mancs, Chelsea and the Bitters away fans and reduce it for people on the Kop (only to be sold to people with a Liverpool postcode) What you set the transfer budget to be this season? 50 mill plus sales Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators? This is the crux. I'd pay for it and donate it on the understanding that there would be no groundshare, no corporate naming rights, me and me mates get final say on any kit designs and shirt sponsors for the club, no effing cheerleaders EVER and that the club should never be sold to some dodgy centi-millionaire or billionaire with unfeasible fantasy ideas -
There's no way they're going to rescind both reds, that would be questioning the referees competence. They won't make any dispensation and allow them to play 'just because it's the Cup Final' as that is favouritism. They won't let one off without the other as it would seem biased. They just binned Mike Dean to avoid all that, so I'd say Luis is out, so let's work round it. And in that spirit, the starting eleven in Cardiff is Reina, Finnan, Carra, Sami, Riise, Gerrard, Momo, Xabi, Kewell, Cisse, Crouch. Until Cisse has a stinker against Villa and you can replace him with Nando.

I don't begrudge Arsenal the glory of winning the Champions League as that only strengthens their history, which at the moment is not a threat to us. I do begrudge them the money that comes with it as will strengthen their future, which is a threat to us. So on balance I hope they lose. Not badly or anything, only to keep them out of next years competition to balance things out.
-
At least they could not tell us what the results were. Everton/Chelsea v Mancs as well. The real draw is gonna be a let-down now unless its exactly the same
-
If this is true then I'm well gutted, Victor ticked all the boxes and was available for f all. We need a competent right-mid even if its just to free up Stevie to play in the middle. People denigrate Nunez but watching him staying out wide and trying to whip in crosses made me wonder what someone like that, but with more quality, would give to the team (we've seen it recently with Harry on the left). Garcia is out for the forseeable so it leaves Stevie, Cisse, FSP or a spare right-back, all of them square pegs. SWP is cloud cuckoo land. I'm sure we'll do well till the end of the season but I'll now wonder how well we'd have done if we didn't have to keep firefighting with the right-wing position.
