He has lost a bit of pace I agree, but he is still strong and his finishing and ability to create goals (for himself i mean) is second to none. The last 3-4 weeks have seen the Torres of old come back, that in itself is a indictment of him but it cant be ignored. He is world class and will rip us a new one on Sunday (if he plays).

Exactly 35 Million for a striker who has a good 6 months and is currently injured, having just sold our best player who has averaged 20ish (give or take a few) goals a season and is truly world class. Carrol may have potential but thats it, Torres is already there and is about to hit the peak

If we get Young aswell...that would be some day. Putting aside the price, we could have at least bought someone who wasnt injured - especially as the nature of his injury is an unknown...maybe we can use distance selling regulations!
