Two, deffo overpaid for Downing, but take your point. The rest of it has been very good business in my eyes, refelcts badly as two of the three biggest signings (in terms of money spent) have well and truly disappointed. We'd be sat here praising them to high heaven if we had just signed Suarez, Enrique, Henderson, Adam, Bellamy and Coates.

Enrique, Bellamy and Suarez have all been superb. Suarez could certainly have scored more, he is never an out and out number 9 though and really we need someone in the team who is, like the 2008/09 version of Torres, or someone with good movement, control, speed and who can put the ball in the net. An Aguero type would be perfect (not saying we should have signed him as I think he was beyond our reach) but someone of that ilk and style to link up, take people on, get in behind with his speed and finish. This new lad with Suarez and Bellamy in support and Stevie playing off him, Lucas sitting and Henderson supporting would work wonders, we just dont have him, whoever the f*** he is.

They have done an exceptional job at it if they were. Worst game I've been in my life, Bellamy aside we had nothing, absolutely nothing and the Bolton fans singing Carroll's name just made me wince. I honestly dont know what I do the team for this one, we need Spearing back (did I actually just say that?!) and quick. I'd start Kelly after Johnson's performance, Kelly is a superb defender and is decent linkinng up going forward, you know what you are getting with him. And then there is upfont, oh my, I'd actually play a 60 year old Kenny.

This makes me sad. He is probably in the top three out and out strikers in the world. Got the lot in terms of finishing, great in the air.

Could make a world of difference to us and make defenders think 'oh s*** they have Suarez and xxxxx" rather just 'let's all gang up on that Suarez' and we'll prob get something from this.
