I don't think football is all about being up for it and I don't think 11 players all walk on to the pitch not being up for it. What I do think is that players mentalities are effected by how the team is playing. From the first minute we weren't pressing and we were overrun in midfield. As a result I'm sure the players 'up for it-ness' was probably impacted for the worse. The goal and the Second half change to the formation and more possession in midfield changed the entire shape of the game. And probably the players up for itiness. Edit: Apart from Glen Johnson, whose up for itiness appears to be entirely immune to how well he team is playing.

Well I'm not sure what you are saying then, because the Chelsea game aside, the first half was one of the best examples of naive tactical decisions I have seen in a long time from a Liverpool side. And re the big sam point, a) wtf, and b) The plural of anecdote is not data.

I suppose we didn't lose to chelsea because of being tactically outplayed either? Tactics have nothing to do with football at all, that Rafa Benitez was a big blagger and just pumped all our s*** players up mentally before the game? No wonder big sam is such a great manager.
