Rafa played the wrong players in the wrong positions today (although i probably wouldn't be saying that if he actually managed to pull it off!). 3-pronged attack w/ Torres, Voronin, & Crouch?! eh, way too narrow. then you've got an overly-combative midfield w/ Momo playing in an advanced attacking midfield role *deep sigh* our shape never looked solid & we were running around aimlessly more often than not. 4-4-2 is whats been working well for us - & we should have stuck w/ it. Kewell (if fit enough, which it seems he was) or Babel starting on the left, in place of Voronin... & Lucas in place of Momo to keep play ticking & balanced in midfield was what i was hoping for. hopefully Rafa can make amends against Marseilles & Manure this coming week.

i fully endorse those sentiments. Gerrard has been playing a central role. the middle is too crowded w/ Torres, Crouch, Voronin, & Gerrard charging forward! Arbeloa has been overlapping on the right but we are still lacking width - esp on the left channel. get Lucas on in order to keep possession (Momo off) & Babel &/or Kewell on (Voronin off).

Momo, as usual, has been excellent in his tackling & hustle but poor in possession. some of his passing just makes you wonder... Torres is so good - but even he can't do a thing about Momo's passing!

effective punch from Reina. Momo down in the box. possibly another shout for a penalty. Rafa fuming & rightly so.

Reading got a penalty for what wasn't a penalty. we got nothing for what was a penalty. the ref has been as appalling as some of Momo's passing.
