Watched the first half live and we are appaling once again!! No movement, no passion, no fight, no idea how to pass the ball five yards to a white shirt - this is reminiding me at the moment of gh's last season in charge! This whole gillett and hicks saga is totally overshadowing how poor our football has been for most of this season!

I wonder which one out of Gillett and Hicks will get the blame for the first half performance?

I'm going to slaughter us as I think all fans should - that first half was a disgrace - these are rafa's players and if as someone say's we are shopping the bargain basement for a centre half @ £6.8M (which isn't bargain basement) but H&V are shopping in the job centre and we are playing against bin men and carpenters. Rafa has to take as much of the blame for this as the players - alot of the offield issues at the moment are clouding how poor our form and football has been for over 2 months now!!! Even if we win this 8-2 it won't alter the face that the first half was a joke to liverpool football club!

For me a lot of the problem with Gerrard in the middle is the rigid style that Rafa seems to have him playing. Against Besiktas he was the more defensive of the two central midfielders with Masch playing the further forward of the two. When Momo plays he plays as the attacking CM, if there is one midfielder that shouldn't be playing the attacking role it's momo as his distribution and shooting (apart from his 1 screamer) is very average. Rafa should forget this one man sits all the time and one man goes forward. It should be more like it was / is for Arsenal with Petit and Viera and now Fabregas / Gilberto and the Mancs with Keane / Scholes or Carrick / Scholes now. While one of them is the more defensive minded of the two either of their players go forward at will and the other just slots into place and covers him. Like it was in the great days for us with Souness, McMahon, Whelan, McDermott they would all defend and attack! With Rafa it's too rigid one MUST only sit and one MUST go forward. Getting rid of Gerrad is not the answer, he's our best player and has been for the past 5 years FFS! We should be playing a more expansive attacking style of football and then we will really see Gerrard at his best. Play Alonso and Gerrard in the middle and just let them both do what they do best, don't tie them down to little boxes on the pitch that they can't move out of. They are both Very Intelligent Footballers who know how to play the game and know that if one goes forward the other can sit. If Gerrard was up for sale tomorrow, every top team in Europe would be after him and 99% of the teams would play him in the centre letting him do what he does best!

So gerrard who won us the penalty and was our main driving force wasn't playing with enough intelligence but Momo was ?

I agree he hasn't been playing well for a few weeks so drop him then, but in the 2nd half today he was our best player before being taken off and the reason we where back in the game! The time to kick him up the a*** is not when he is playing well! The head not heart comment is a bit weird as well, I'd just like to see Momo play with his feet and just once find a red shirt! If anyone can honestly say Momo deserved to stay on ahead of gerrard today I will be totally baffled!

Thought we where lucky today and some of Rafa's tactics and substitutions totally baffled me! But WE BEAT THE BLUESHYTE IN THEIR OWN TINPOT STADIUM!!! Hopefully this will finally kick-start our season!

Apart from the first 10 minutes when kuyt should have reacted quicker to Vornonin's shot we have been quite simply s***. Why are we playing with this formation? We have got 5 in midfield yet Neville and Jaglielka are running the show. This has to be changed at half-time and not the usual 60 minute sub. Get Babel and Pennant on and get Sissoko off! Tactics have been very poor so far!

From the Official: Ferrnando Torres misses out on this afternoon's Merseyside derby at Goodison, with Andriy Voronin partnering Dirk Kuyt up front for Liverpool. Neither Torres or Xabi Alonso are in the squad to face Everton at 12.45pm despite hopes earlier in the week they might be fit. The team in full is: Reina, Riise, Finnan, Hyypia, Carragher, Benayoun, Mascherano, Gerrard, Sissoko, Voronin, Kuyt. Subs: Itandje, Crouch, Pennant, Babel, Lucas. I'd rather have seen Babel playing ahead of Momo - let's just hope Momo can find a red shirt today!
