I have a feeling he can its very hard to judge some players when they play for mid table sides as when the side goes through a slump it can effect their chances more dramatically than a top four side.

I found his first touch strange sometimes its great other times its woefull. Sometimes he link up play is even quite good I think he has promise shame we are not after promise but as it stand a "PROPER" run in his prefered position would be good.

TBH Thats no neccessarliy true my dad always tell me not to tell him how the game should be played as he has watched it for 70 odd years etc and knows are far more about it than I do ... Owen is good enought but injured far to often if we wont to win the league we will need someone that stays fit .... Defoe seems good but bad form suggests that he might not be all that... Johnson would he cut it out the level we need..... Kuyt & other linked foriegn strikers all a risk.... To sum it up unless we sign Henry I dont think there is anything that would not be risky for us atm.

I was not suggesting he should pay "over the odds" but their are many players that might make a big differance to our front lines effectiveness. I was wondering if we had a budget of 20m ( which would mean we probably would sell some deadwood ) what player would people suggest that could probably be the least risky purchase. I can think of anyone in the English that fits that bill Defoe seems to be hit and miss I dont think Owen is the answer we need a player thats stays fit....

For a big piece of the jigsaw. If we where to blow it on a striker in the summer which striker would you get ?? Remember if you get it wrong you waste our whole budget. Who do you think could come here and be a virtually guarenteed success.
