  1. So Karius, Matip, Grujic and Mane, does that leave us looking get another LB and central midfielder?
  2. I saw the reports about a deal basically being in place and then he changed his agent at which point the goal posts changed and we refused to match the new demands, depends what those new demands were surely? If we knew what the figures were then we could all have an easier chat about whether FSG were short changing the boss or if the demands were out of order. I look at JK and feel that if FSG don't back him as he deserves he will not take that kind of actions quietly and rightly so, at which point we will see and hear about it. Guess we will find out which direction it is very soon.
  3. Personally, I don't see FSG in the terms that you are using, they choose not to spend in the same way as Some do but it's not as if they don't spend. As long as the manager gets the players he wants what is the issue?
  4. Very true but JK has made it clear he wants players who are committed to the cause not mercenaries or players who only want to come dependant on CL footie. As long as FSG stump up the cash for JK's targets I think they are a good match, they want us to do well on a controlled budget (within reason) and buying unknown players who are more reasonably priced and turning them into quality players within a quality team is JK's preferred model. He only spent over 10m twice or three times while at Dortmund so it's not that he won't do it but he doesn't normally go there. Really can't see us going and spending big big money on anyone else if we get Mane.
  5. Don't care about Arsenal and I believe JK can return us to where we belong, how much he spends on the way, meh. As long as FSG back him on who he wants.
  6. So if JK and his guys pick better targets and the 5-10m players end up being quality? I have no problem with FSG going and handing over wads of cash for the players who are at the top of their game right now but JK prefers to buy younger and develope, the thing that makes him different from a lot of other managers is his track record in turning talent into top players, no manager is perfect at that particular area, but he is damned good at it.
  7. He is good enough to be a squad player, is he content to play that role?
  8. I don't think any manager has a perfect record on who they have signed at times, but hopefully JK's choices will be a lot more well thought out than some of our previous managers choices, if those reports are accurate and we know about it then our boss will know even more, time will tell who we sign.
  9. I trust JK to improve us, so as long as we get the players he wants then I couldn't care less which clubs they come from. Mane looks to be our number one attacking target at the minute, he is a good player, he knows the league, he's very quick, direct, creative and scores goals, if the owners back him and are willing to stump the cash then what's the problem?
  10. Lol very true, keep everything crossed that JK keeps an extremely tight rein on certain members of the staff who might be involved within any transfer deals.
  11. I hope that the penny has finally dropped and that we don't mess around in the all to familiar style. Have to agree though you can't really see JK being a submissive woose and just accepting that sort of nonsense.
  12. I realise that Chilwell is untried and all but signing up and coming players that were unexpected is JK's mo. Let's give him the opportunity to do his stuff and see how things pan out.
  13. Totally agree. In moments he has done some great stuff but when watching games that he played in I always expected him to put in rash challenge which on lots of times cost us dearly. No malice at all but we need to improve, time to move on.
  14. Both Lucas and Allen have things to offer the squad, Lucas has shown his excellent versatility playing as an emergency centre back, Allen has great energy and has shown he can change games for us. I don't think we will keep both, I think it will come down to which one is content to work as a bit part player. I think Allen will want to play more regularly and will move, Lucas will take on Kolo's role of experienced squad player who can nearly always be relied upon to do a good job when called on.
  15. As a rule this is what JK has done in transfers and his record in those previous moves is damned good, so if we target younger players, bring it on.
  16. Quality forward, excellent addition if we can make it happen.
  17. Reports in a cpl of papers this morning, which originate from Italy, are saying the Zielinski deal is close.
  18. SW as a club are partly to blame without a doubt but I have no problems with the fans of that club.
  19. I trust JK to target players he can do good things with, his track record in such things is pretty damned good so whether we spend big or not doesn't bother me. I just can't wait to see how we shape up after he gets his summer business done, so looking forward to next season.
  20. It would be strange to see a player of that quality being content to be a definite bench warmer/squad player, he has been a bit part player this season and his bosses have made it clear he will an even lesser version this season. It's understable to hear the player say what he has because his agent can then look to force Bayern into a bigger pay off but it would be very surprising to find Gotze still there at the start of the season, where he ends up, goodness only knows.
  21. Nervously
  22. Unless we have another keeper targeted?!
  23. Pierre hojbjerg looks like another good young central midfielder at Bayern.
  24. I realise that Karius is away at the start of the season, but I'm quite happy to stick with my previous comment. :-)
