Look, I'm not defending the Yanks treatment of Rafa. I just don't subscribe to the belief that results had absolutely no bearing on his exit - it did, even only to the point of making it easier to remove him due to fans unrest. Results dictated the climate and they took their opportunity. Our viewpoints aren't that dissimilar.

It's not that black and white. They were willing to keep him provided results were good. Certainly, they would preferred to have someone more 'manageable' but ultimately results dictated his exit.
