  1. WHAT? I wanted to smash the tv - Charlie c*nt face is a prize A c**k and Merson is plain thick!!!!!
  2. I disagree with most of what you say in that Rafa should have kept his trap shut in the first place, as this wasn't the first time they obviously felt it was time to act so it doesn't happen again. Fair enough. however, I would like them to be a little bit more hands on, but, I would rather they were like this than dictators like Amramovich!
  3. You are totally missing my point - they are both "reported figures". Arsenal did not actually pay 17.5M for Reyes just as we did not pay 26.5 M for Torres.
  4. I know - who said we signed him for £76.5M?
  5. Think you might find that 17.5M is comparable to the 26.5M given to Rafa for Torres.
  6. Is part of the problem Rafa actually believes this too? I think for the long term good of the club and the relationship between the owners and manager they have done the right thing. Rafa always does this and it is not the Liverpool way and if this puts an end to it good. He is a great manager, I want him to remain manager, but petulant outbursts are not becoming of him. wenger would love to be given the kind of money Rafa is!
  7. There would have been no need for the statement if Rafa had not acted that way!
  8. My take on this is it is just normal politiking between a senior manager and his boss! The problem I do have with this is the fact it has been made public, and only 1 person is responsible for that and unfortunately that is Rafa. Lets get one thing straight though and let me point out what I feel is a major difference between what happened at Valencia where he had to use Lamp Shades to sit on. At no point does it read to me that G&H are telling him who to buy and sell, they are merely saying we have some massive games over the next few weeks, they should be your priority, please get on with it as if they go well it will have a positive impact on the money available which we will happily discuss when we see you in a couple of weeks. Rafa still has the final say over who he does and does not buy - a situation Maureen would have loved!!!!
  9. It was Owens debut but it was Feb 98 I think. Great strike though!!!
  10. Not true - Euro 96 was superb
  11. Will be James as he is the 3rd keeper in the squad
  12. The beeb are reporting that Robinson isn't even on the bench. Lets hope Scott has a blinder and adds a few Million to his value
  13. More to do with the coaching than his attitude if you ask me. Wright was a better player than Scales - by a country mile!
  14. Spiblish

    Gerrard

Doesn't that describe most of his passes
  15. Kaizer, nobody is arguing re his quality, but, all of the things you are saying could, and were, said of Veron before he came here? I just can't see how he would cope with the pace of the game and he strikes me as just the kind of player who would go missing, on cold winter nights in Bolton(for example)!!
  16. quality
  17. Kaizer, yes he is a great player, but I always get one word in my head when i look at him, - "Veron". I think he would not work out in the premiership, because, as people have said, the pace would pass him by.
  18. True, slur would never have sold him if he was any good.
  19. Agree fully, plus of course he didn't even get in the squad at the beginning of 93/94(I think) season due to his bad attitude - think the same happened with Julian Dicks. Wright was quality, best English footballing centre half at the time
  20. I agree that Scales was a good defender but I recall him only having one out ball and that was square to the right wing, he couldn't do much else aprt from hoof. As a defender though, yes, definitely the better of Roys signings.
  21. How does a we are signing Mascho(Woo hoo) thread turn into a Parry is sh*t thread??
  22. Agreed - some of the stuff written about him on here is unbelievable. If he had never been manager here he would have been considered a red legend plain and simple. Also, have to say he is for me the best pundit out there. Tells it like it is with no bull! Yes, he was far from a great manager for us but even he admits now he did a lot of things wrong and would do it very differently now.
  23. Rafa Interview with CNN Actually he doesn't say much the extract is so small
  24. Of the flag with 5 European Cups on saying "We achieve what you can only dream of?" or words to that effect???
  25. Correct - that was my whole point!
