I had been thinking we Klopp just decided to have the band of forwards and midfield tighter together as part of the defensive tightening up, in general the front press seems to have moved back 5-15m, although it depends on the opponent. Salah is freed up in space out wide, but will track back, Mane will put in an incredible defenisve shift and get forward and the thinking is in if you have Firmino doing what he does best, but 10m back you don't lose anything, This relative compaction is also allowing the back 4 (5?) to play more throughballs. It makes a ton of sense on paper and was working really well earlier, but I think Firimino is struggling as whatever the opposite of a trequartista is called and maybe we need to go back a few steps towards the brilliant chaos of last year.
