I agree. I think he's a decent player and a good option for the right as he offers genuine width. But I still think we'll see Gerrard on the right quite a bit this season. Mixed feelings about this transfer really. Disappointed that Alves won't be signed but if it means we have the funds for a top class striker then it's probably the most sensible option.

I reckon he'd be more frustrating than Cisse to watch. Bit of an odd signing by Rafa if true as he's undoubtedly talented but there's no sign of footballing intelligence or awareness there.

You have to have at least one foot on or behind the line beofre the ball is kicked, which he did as far as I can tell. One of the reasons he made the saves was the amount of forward momentum he got from his front leg

he played really well for the first half of the the seaon, even when he wasn't scoring - he had a big influence on the team performance, especially once the rest of the team got used to having a forward who could hold the ball up recently he hasn't played so well (apart from the derby), whether it's tiredness or he's been coasting a bit I don't know as has been mentioned plenty of times, he really needs to work on his attacking headers 7/10

exactly. during the course of a season you drop points against teams you've battered - chelsea have done it, the mancs have done it. Equally we've won games (particularly away) where we haven't played well. It's our form against our rivals, and our london form that we need to improve.

crouch acknowledged cisse's contribution as they were running back. it's not a big deal, it was the end of the game, the five defensive players didn't even really celebrate at all
