This is the part that doesn't ring true to me. It doesn't make sense that G+H would refuse to talk to Rafa about proposals to bring funds into the club.

So do you want torres to play at some point then? Because both Voronin and Crouch played well midweek (Voronin better than Crouch imo).

I think Kaizer has a point here. We definitely haven't seen much evidence that Crouch + Torres is a good partnership anyway, although I think they've only started 2 games together. Yes Torres scored his hattrick at reading but crouch didn't really contribute and his performance was slated after the match if I recall correctly. The other game they started in was the marseille debacle.

When does a valid reason become an excuse? It's not as if rafa has tried put the the poor performances down to injuries anyway. utter rubbish probably. and this is partly the manager's responsibility.

he was ok against toulouse, wretched against reading and marseille. he's played well recently though, and should have started today, I reckon it will be him and voronin midweek.

agree 100% but for a while (marseille, wigan, spurs, everton) even his basic defending was all over the place. At least that part of his game is coming back.

Ant, weren't you having a go at Rafa for using shots on/off target to support his selections? And now you're using the timing of our first corner to attack rafa. By the way I realise the first half wasn't good enough, but we are improving.

he came on on wednesday so he should be fine. No word on whther Momo is over his ilness though. I expect Masch + Lucas or Momo in CM, with Gerrard right, Benayoun left. Up front, who knows?

Think we have a good chance of winning, the players and staff will obviously be going for the win. But it wouldn't be the end of the world if we picked up a point. As for the set-up, whatever works is the right set-up.

no. at that distance you just try to give yourelf the best chance of blocking it, it was moving fast enough that he didn't have time to conciously react.

Alonso was fit, after he picked up the pace of the game he was starting to gain control of midfield. It's just bad luck. -
has there been any news on arbeloa's injury? assume it's an injury as he hasn't been in the squad the last two games
