MOST IMPORTANT THING --- We are at home for the second leg of the QF and if we progress the SF. I am well happy with that. PSV was the draw I wanted, yep, I know we lost to Benfica last time but we have avoided both English sides and got the 'weakest' of the draws and the side Rafa knows all about. I don't think Koeman has the players to repeat what happened last year. Also PSV's midfield is hardly one of pace and power so the loss of Momo for the first leg wont hurt as much. Best draw possible. Gives us every chance of winning the tournament.

I'm happy that they are out as they are extremely unpredictable and could well raise their game against an English side to a level not usually seen by them in Europe. Also I'm happy because the side that went through in their place is one that, I believe, Rafa has the measure of so prefer to have them in the draw. Teams I'd like in order PSV Roma AC Milan Chelsea Bayern Man U Valencia

What the f*** is an English commentator expected to say about an English club scoring on English terrestrial TV.

My take as Barca pushed on the space on the wings became enormous, with Kuyt switching to the middle opened up the right flank to Pennant. Kuyt was knackered but he is better with his back to goal than Bellamy so he became a static target with Gerrard and Pennant doing his running. Despite Pennant letting Gudjohnsen in I thought it worked because our most threatening moments at the end of the game from Gerrard and Pennant (supplying Crouch). Once Kuyt role had changed then Crouch for Kuyt was a straight swap enabling us to break quickly and dangerously whenever Barca faltered.

He picked out banners, he acknowledged our history, he recognised chants and mentioned them on air and he allowed Pleat to heap praise on us. As a commentator who is not a fan and supports our bitter rivals I'd suggest he did a very professional job. Pleat gave some of the best tactical analysis I've heard from a cocommentator on the TV and the after match analysis was remarkably good. Maybe ITV have spotted that there is room for intelligent punditry and are at least having a go at it. ROFLMAO of at Robbie Earle looking bemused and into the wrong camera infront of a deafening KOP

I disagree in part, I think you need genuine pace and width on one side of the park. Gerrard and Riise doesn't work for me. It did in these two matches but that was because of the situation and who we were playing. I'd rather see work rate and power on one side and guile and creativity on the other e.g. Alves and Riise or Gerrard and <Insert great left winger here>. P.S. I know Gerrard give so much more than that but he isn't a tricky winger type so in that respect he is similar to Riise

"Do you see yourself as offering something different to Xabi, Stevie and Momo? They're all great players. It would be disrespectful of me to start saying I have qualities that they don't! " He's won me over with that quote
