  1. Looks we're doomed then http://www.pegasusnews.com/news/2007/nov/1...dent-jim-lites/
  2. It's Dubai we're talking about not Sudan FFS.
  3. Exactly. It's just like a property deal. You see a site for sale with a planning consent, decide the owners have undercooked the potential so you buy, go back to the planners and obtain permission for a bigger scheme, then sell for a quick profit. Arguably you can make a lot more if you develop yourself but if the risks are too high or the project is tying up too much capital for too long, you take a view and sell to someone with deeper pockets. If I recall, not only have G&H cleared the principle of an expansion of the stadium from 61,000 to 76,000 they also have done a lot of work on the Anfield Plaza plans for mixed-use development around the ground.
  4. LIVERPOOL today emphatically denied reports that co-owner Tom Hicks is looking to sell his shares. A report today claimed that Hicks was preparing an exit strategy, just nine months after joining business partner George Gillett in a £298m takeover. Chief executive Rick Parry said today: “I have seen the story, and as far as I am aware it is complete rubbish.” The report claimed that Hicks had placed a staggering guide valuation of £1billion on the Reds, and that the Dubai International Capital group - who were set to buy the club before the deal collapsed in acrimony - were considering a new bid. But Anfield supremo Parry, who is in regular contact with the co-owners, insists the story is new to him. Pack your bags Rick.
  5. Hicks angered by shares rumours Feck me this guy needs a major course of anger management, he's just spent a week being "incandescent with fury" over Rafa!!!
  6. "City sources" is the key. It's not coming from the sports pages
  7. Don't forget Hammill!! http://www.thisishampshire.net/sport/hamps...lways_rises.php
  8. If Rafa is still walking a tightrope, as is being suggested, you just wonder if the survival instinct will rein in some of his rotation selections. Rather than progressively integrating a new player into the side for the long term interests of the club & player, Rafa may just be thinking of throwing caution to the wind and going for a winning sequence even if it means flogging his best players to do so.
  9. That just has to be too good to be true especially the DIC interest. Moores would be sick though Sells for what £300m with debt? Sold for a billion 9 months later
  10. The chain of events is all very interesting but the main point is why have our owners put a moratorium on all sales & purchases, even frees, for a crucial 6 week period? Where is the sense in that unless they don't trust Rafa to do any deals, meaning he is either on trial until the 16th or they have already decided to dump him.
  11. There will be 45,000 trying to mediate tonight

  13. There's a decent example of how to get the message across in RAWK's campaign over the last couple of days against skysports coverage - where they were holding up texts/e-mails from so-called LFC supporters to suggest that there was a sizable anti-Benitez element in the camp and therefore, he did not have our full support. Hundreds of e-mails later, they changed their stance. This astonishing situation (how can Rafa's job possibly be at risk FFS) has really galvanised our support (the petition is over 27,000) and finally induced a long-overdue reality check for us all on the implications of the sale to Hicks & Gillett
  14. Isn't that one of the big problems? Not Rafa's fault either, what option has he got if he can't communicate with them and/or they say wait til we bowl into town every 3 months or so.
  15. If Rafa goes there will be open warfare between the fan base here and the owners across the pond. Even the Glazers had the sense to keep Ferguson & Gill in place. It would be very, very difficult for any new manager brought in by Parry/G&H. Jesus H Christ would be given a hard time let alone f***ing Mourinho
  16. I'm sure the extra £8m he trousered acts as some small consolation for doing such a rotten deal
  17. You mean like saying "SACK PARRY" ?

    Rafa

That's a good sign. My take on it is : Parry thinks Rafa is becoming too much of a control freak. Houllier went the same way - especially with the academy & Heighway - and the view then was that the club were bigger than one man. The issue of Rafa negotiating direct over Mascherano has brought all this to a head with Parry crying foul. Rafa thinks Parry is incompetent in transfer dealings. As others have said, he blames Parry for losing out on both Vidic & Malouda when Rafa had done all the spadework. G&H are backing Parry and Rafa's only chance is to bridge-build with the CEO and construct a workable business relationship with clearly defined lines of authority. Even then H is incensed that having been told to fall into line, Rafa took the p*ss. Lot more complex than that, but it's been simmering for months

    Rafa

Parry & Rafa barely speak = fact. Some of the press reports have Parry's stamp written all over them. The real rift has been between Parry & Rafa for ages - G&H have now been brought into it and have taken sides.
  20. I would hope that if the unthinkable happens and Rafa goes, we would have a similar situation as Chelsea when Mourinho was sacked ie the fans & team in uproar, but they carry on in a professional way, at least in the short term. I fear the worst, I really do. Can you imagine if Rafa went to a rival and the likes of reina, alonso & torres went with him?
  21. Fek me, they backed down and gave him the money after all? Rejoice
  22. That's a slight problem when the manager & CEO don't speak to each other though
  23. Just to darken the gloom. Just think if Rafa was forced out and he took a new job at somewhere like Newcastle. In a couple of years he would have them sorted and come back to f***ing haunt us. Don't think I could take that
  24. Rafa's job is at risk but he hasn't gone yet so we still have time to influence any final decision. At this stage, the main weapon is to show he has our full support starting on Wednesday night when the mood should be positive but loud and defiant. It would be counter-productive IMO to engage in an anti-G&H rally at the moment. If this doesn't work and they go ahead and sack Rafa then I am certainly up for more militant action. I thought from the outset that Moores sold us down the river when the extra £8m was dangled in front of him. The subsequent misinformation campaign against DIC may have fooled the fyds's but we would have been in much safer hands with them. Our only hope is if there is something in the rumours about Gillett buying out Hicks, because all the noise seems to be coming from Bush's crony.
