Read your f***in post again. You said Rafa couldn't find one ONE left winger in the whole of f*** Europe. Well he lined Malouda up no problem but we lost out to Chelsea. Why? Because we didn't close the deal in time. Why? Because of your tightwad yankee mates that's why. Give Rafa a break willya. And Babel's a decent buy as well, give him a break too
-
His 1st choice was Malouda but your f*ckin yank mates took too long to find the money & we missed out.
-
The other option is Pennant on the right and Benayoun on left

Agreed, Barrett ain't always right especially over team selection when no-one can 2nd guess Rafa. rafa's comments about showing pride & passion suggest he may give the usual suspects another chance and more radical surgery is delayed for the moment.
-
No but he is in awful form. Rafa might be thinking we need to improve at set pieces so bringing in the 6'3" Skretl may help. Barrett also suggests Lucas may play on the left & Crouch could come back in so ------------------------------Reina------------------------ Carragher--------------Skretl-------Hyypia---------Riise Benayoun----------Gerrard---------Mascherano------Lucas ------------------Crouch-----------Torres---------------- Hmmmmm
-
Pin that to the dressing room wall before KO tomorrow
-
As Barrett stated today, some of our players just don't give a sh*t at the moment so Rafa should look them in the eye and only pick those who are prepared to sweat blood for him and the shirt. ----------------------------Reina----------------------------- Arbeloa------------Carragher-------Hyypia---------Riise Pennant--------Gerrard--------Mascherano-----Benayoun ---------------Babel-------------Torres------------------- Subs Itanje, Skretl, Lucas, 2 kids

Personally (though you will not agree) I think Rafa is the only one displaying any semblence of leadership at the moment and as previously said he is IMO the sticking plaster that is holding us together. He is showing great dignity yet is getting it in the neck (or back) from all sides as he takes the blame. If he walked out now we really would be in the sh*t - as it is, we are STILL the team best placed to take 4th spot and have a good run in the 2 major cup competitions, maybe not enough for this season but giving us a platform to build on for next year. In the meantime, we HAVE to get shot of those 2 c*nts who have destroyed our club in the last 12 months and whose continuing presence is the cancerous cause of our malaise.

Tony Barrett agrees with you http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liv...-name_page.html

I think this is the best explanation for our current plight. Rafa badly needs a strong No 2. Wouldn't it be great if Pako's appearance at the youth cup game was a prelude to his return to the fold?
-
Rafa played Crouch against Havant. That's probably why he didn't make the team last night - because his attitude was a disgrace.

Would be a good move for DIC to offer a slice of the club to fan-investors say 10% as part of their bid. Rogan Taylor's consortium might stand a chance of raising that sort of money but never £500m
-
Most people realised the stadium costs would be financed from club income but paying for the costs of acquisition plus all transfers as well? Just how do you think we are better off now than a year ago? And how the feck do you know how DIC would finance us? I'm sure that Moores was sold the idea that G&H were multi-billionaires with a large stable of asset-rich companies including other sporting interests. LFC was to have been part of that stable with manageable cross-company debt set alongside their own equity. The loan-to-value ratio of their global interests would assist in taking on the borrowings at affordable rates to finance the new stadium with the additional revenue showing a decent return on their investment. Instead we are in a stand-alone structure with every single penny set against the club. We are now £350 million in debt with all the interest to be paid by the club. No-one expected that not least because the lying b******s pledged it wouldn't happen.
-
The Echo have definitely changed stance over the last few weeks. I think Parry & Moores are now openly hostile to G&H and that's reflected in the press reporting.

To my mind, Rafa Benitez has kept this club together this season and deserves our support. He's the only stabilising factor we have and has had to put up with an incredible amount of backstabbing both behind the scenes and in the full glare of the media machine. What he has had to deal with is unfair and the supporters know he has not been given any backing. We also know he has our interests at heart, far more than our owners. While we all moan about some of the performances, most fair-minded match-going fans are prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt because we might be far worse off if he had thrown his hands up and walked away from the club. Rafa is our sticking plaster and we need him to hang around.

Hicks Backs Rafa as 'Kop' Completes Financing Package (.tv)
beejay replied to a topic in Liverpool FC
I recall the interview as saying the exact opposite : that each could buy the other out. It would have been pretty odd if there wasn't such a clause, pre-emptive rights are in virtually all partnership agreements. Even today Barrett mentioned that Gillett had not come up with his guarantees etc so if he just couldn't raise the necessary Hicks may have been forced into exercising his buy-out clause to allow the refinancing to go ahead. -

Has Parry been sacked at last? -

But surely the refinancing wouldn't have been completed if Gillett had just agreed a sale to DIC? It's either DIC have bought his share and put up the required security OR Hicks has bought out Gillett and gone ahead with the deal himself -

Well, No mention whatsoever of his partner Gillett = he is no longer involved in Kop Holdings? No mention of any rejection of DIC = DIC are in negotiations or have bought out G? Quotes on Rafa = Rafa's safe? No mention of Parry or Moores = dunno So what about Hicks then? -
If it's true that Foster Gillett has cleared his desk and gone home the plot thickens

Can't wait for this feckin charm offensive. C'mon G&H stand on the kop now amongst all your mates and tell us your vision for the club. Even better, stand next to Rafa let's see his reaction. Despair phase over, just moved into Rage mode
-
Feckin ell that's it then. Despair for a bit then rage takes over and finally determination to hit back. I've been praying for someone (DIC, Moores whoever) to rescue us from these sh*thouses but now it's down to the supporters and I for one will join any action group going.
-
Moores could have done the same as G&H and borrowed for all capital expenditure but we would not then have the extra £190m to buy shares eating it's head off in interest. Funny thing is RBS were our bankers under Moores I think (it was in one of the recent articles) when we were worrying about a £40m debt!
-
It's tomorrow apparently. Wonder how they will announce it - can't see them flying over here to attend a press conference, it might have to be left to Parry!!
-
I'm not so sure it's all about dick-wagging to save face but it's plausible if this refinancing is being done to buy time for a sale to go through. G&H had to do something before the existing loans lapsed and the way it has ended up (according to the press reports today) makes sense as a prelude to a sale. It perhaps explains the reports that RBS were meeting DIC earlier this week to make sure that the structure didn't rule them out.
