You need a strong manager to take tough decisions and my god, have we got one. On Gerrard, the one real flaw in his game is his impatience. He is so desperate to show his creative side that he overdoes the killer balls, the long passes, the quick forward moves. You could see that in the England game v Russia, they needed to keep the ball, frustrate the fans & the opposition players, tire them out and pick them off. But Stevie and the other midfielders squandered possession and it cost them the game. On Saturday, with 11 v 10 we needed to move them around, tire them out, push them deeper into defending their penalty area. Lucas did this brilliantly but it's not Gerrard's game to play square balls, especially in a derby and Rafa knew this. The manager was proved right by events, we took 3 points in another tough away game, Stevie will be super-charged for the next couple of big, big games, the bluesh*te just got an even bigger chip on their shoulders - I for one am well happy.
