I don't know how this thread has got so big. It's so so soooooo obvious he's coming home from his statement. That's as undiplomatic as Owen gets but that is clearly him saying to Real "it's Liverpool or nothing". The story of the Newcastle bid is posturing to the extreme. Everyone should just relax. why do you think clubs bother releasing stories to the press. It's for that exact effect. Are you still pissed at Sky for reporting what rafa said?

If you read what rafa said on Owen and then take it at face value then Sky have reported exactly the right thing. Do you want them to report the opposite of what he says. He's deliberately feeding them that line so why get pissed off with them for reporting what he wants them to. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It really wouldn't be that hard to find extremely similar quotes about Baros would it.

Alonso or no Alonso, we need to have 2 new central midfielders by the start of next season if we want to do anything. Hamann's gone and Biscan is too inconsistent. Hargreaves is a great shout as a squad player. If we don't get 2 new CMs of a decent standard along with a RM, CB and probably a LB then we won't really be in a position to to make a real impression in my opinion.
