This time last year I couldn't stand him. Really didn't see what he was doing at the club and genuinely would have driven down to London myself, provided I had earplugs for the journey so I didn't have to listen to him go on about how great he was. When he scored that goal for chelsea and turned in that performance in the final v them that was me gone and I was convinced he was literally the worst Liverpool captain i had ever seen and his presence was poisonous. Everytime he was asked about his future he'd ummm and he'd ahhh as if he wasn't on the pitch playing in the team which had just lost. HE EVEN DID IT AFTER THAT OWN GOAL. For all the world I would have swapped the name of the goalscorer of that third against olympiakos for any other. ...I had a point I think... Oh yeah, I like him now and he may go on to be one of our best captains ever. I can't believe how much he's changed. He's a completely different bloke (apart from when he refers to just how good he thinks he is). I'm rubbish at holding grudges but i really thought i'd hate him forever and never trust him again but he's almost back to being that kid who celebrated clearing that shot off the line against Everton like he'd won the cup final © fred milne. He's a genuine Leader of men now and I'm proud to have him as a Liverpool captain. I've not even started on just how good a player he is yet but I'll leave that for now. Well played steven
