You know how Lindsay Lohan was once fresh faced and pretty, you'd enjoy spending time with her, running your fingers through her RED hair, walking along the beach and you'd genuinely see her as attractive and want to go to her? As time has gone on she's faded, fell out of the limelight, become unattractive and had a facelift to seal the cracks but was never what she once was... Sort of reminds me of us (minus the drugs) -
Definitely see your point, but on this one the most logical explanation must be that Pepe is off. With the defensive gaps we have and a midfield in need of addition I can't see us throwing 10 mil at a club for a position that is fine anyway. Rodgers is more forthcoming than that I'd imagine.

Sorry to change the topic but does anybody have any knowledge on what is going on with our interest in Luis Muriel? Seemed to be quite heavily linked a week ago, heard nothing from journo's since. Or is he only going to be targeted as a replacement for Suarez if he goes? Seems a shame if we don't go for him even if he does stay, obviously money would a factor, mind. Cheers ears. -
Is Coutinho not due to be pushed back to the wider left hand-sided forward role should we acquire Mkhitaryan? Saying that I suppose it could all change with Luis' impending departure.

Indeed, I think we should be going all out for this one though, he looks a quality young chap. Am I correct in thinking he's our main target? Btw, City paying £30 mil + for a 28 year old, they really do have money to burn... -

Has there been any further news on the possibility of Mkhitaryan? Seems to have gone quiet on the journo front, the ones I have anyway! -

Haha! Sorry, I had to get that one in there. -

Tevez is a great shout, it's a crazy world when people start saying they wouldn't want him at Liverpool, really. Those stats are great from last year from him and 29 is no age really, I believe with someone of the caliber of such a player they can continue playing quality football until at least their mid-thirties (Bierhoff, Klose, Batistuta, Drogba to name but a few from times gone by). We could afford £110-120,000 p.w. If City are eager to get rid and start again then I wouldn't see much of an issue with them paying him off for a season. It will all come down to player satisfaction, which would pretty much render this entire post obsolete as let's be honest, Tevez to a 2013 Liverpool? Respectfully, and regretably, no. Let;s just dwell in the sweet, sweet 6/10 signings of the Aspas' of this world. Yes I'm negative, because he won't be very good. Don't lie to yourselves. -
Really lad? Are you? You can't see any probability in what I said?
-
Because his stats at the end of the season will look something like this: Games: 38 Goals: 7 Serious though, hope he brings glory and fun to all.

Touché - I too have never seen him and am purely going off Fifa/FM stats and word of mouth. Was wondering if anyone on here has actually seen him play in reality? -

Sorry gents (and ladies) been away for a while. What are the feelings with regards to Kyriakos Papadopoulos? Particularly with the added heat that Schalke have signed Santana? Would people be satisfied with him in their younger Hyypia role? -
Shoot myself twice. Once to feel something, second to end it all.
-
Kuyt-inho? That's not even close to what one would refer to as clever wordplay...

Perhaps a certain Asian businessman can shed some light on our little, intertwined dilemma? Let's just call him, Chen Jang?
-
I feel the game plan was to build around Carroll once he was brought in and that's why Downing was, it just never worked, and they needed to be benched.

Please don't think I'm having a go mate, but I think the difference between us then and us now is that with BR in charge we have a drastic sense of realism. Regardless of the astronomical fee we paid for Henderson's services who the hell else is going to pay anything anywhere near that amount for him now? £6-7 mil to be horribly honest, based on how he played on the whole last year, I'd say is about right. Business is an awful thing at times, we're just paying the price for wasting a kitty that could have taken us back to the old Liverpool, and with that, seeing no return from it.
-
Can't agree with that, how can any manager NOT have a game plan? Some are just harder to read than others. Kenny would never of had it in mind that he was there for the short term once his 3 year contract was signed so how could he not have a game plan?
-
I'm sure this has been discussed throughout the night boys, but we're just paying the heavy price of Kenny and Comolli's actions during the last 12/18 months in the transfer windows. NONE of this is Brendan's fault and I understand FSG's reasoning for wanting to stand firm on not wanting to be seen as 'pushovers'. Albeit it was a bit harsh not scraping together an extra million or two for a player Rodger's clearly admired, given the circumstances. We've brought in some fantastic players, Sahin is world class, Borini has had moments of looking good, Assaidi will hopefully be a breath of fresh air. We've got a great manager and coach at the helm who knows what he's doing. It's just an unfortunate situation that he's been left to pick up the pieces. I've every faith he'll get us there, it will take time but we'll do it and we mustn't forget that. But we'll be ok. If we can keep the strikers fit until Jan and bring in another at that point then it won't be the end of the world.

Fabulous shout that, completely agree. Jim White's even getting more smartened up than usual, seems like he was a used car salesman in a previous life, annoying, annoying man. I've logged on late today, what's the latest on the Llorente interest? Is that all's it was?
-
Seems like we'll be having another busy deadline day then.
-
And you TRULY believe that was his fault? Leave please.
-
I sympathise, nothing he could of done.

Suarez is NOT the answer in terms of being our main goalscorer, I don't care what his record was in Holland, he shown last season that he's best suited as more of a forward role for us (like Heskey's role when he played alongside Owen). Get him a strike partner that is a natural poacher!
