  1. Can't argue with that
  2. So not 28 years, four years And most other clubs are in the same boat. I don't know if anyone has mentioned that most of the squad is still on holiday and everyone keeps saying that they want to look at the squad during pre-season before deciding what needs addressing - but most of the squad is on holiday and the message keeps being that they want to assess the squad on the US tour before making any decisions. Part of the problem here is Sky turning the transfer window into entertainment, and then everyone on social media needing clicks to feel relevant. We're now at the point that there being nothing to write about is the actual story. Go outside. Piss on a wasp's nest. Sit on an ant hill. You'll get more out of those experiences than trawling the internet for nuggets like that one.
  3. While you're all having a whale of a time, someone's downvote button is going to break this morning.
  4. This forum is no plaice for funny puns
  5. Don't start. You'll give the poor sod a haddock
  6. You seem to be under the impression that at some point there has been a high bar for puns
  7. 9 goals & 2 assists in 20 games. Credited among their fans with being a big part of their promotion push Hate to bring this up, but it hasn't been Klopp's team since June 1
  8. "Mr. Gordon has been primarily responsible for managing the operations of Liverpool FC, among his many other responsibilities." Also, "Edwards will report directly to FSG’s ownership group, led by principal owner John Henry, chairman Tom Werner, and president Mike Gordon." Also just found out that Jimmy Iovine is an FSG partner, which is pretty cool if you're a music geek
  9. Everyone. Obviously.
  10. If we're looking for a new left winger, there's an American guy who'll be available on a free come November
  11. And that's when the #MeToo movement brought a sudden end to a promising career
  12. In the case of Arsenal, they've signed the guy they already had. The other three 'in' players are returning from loans Villa, Bournemouth and Brentford haven't changed manager so could plan all year long. Brighton pay no attention to who their manager is and buy to sell Chelsea we might as well ignore because they shop like me on Amazon when pissed Palace have bought one guy, Everton seem o have signed their own U21 keeper. Fulham haven't bought anyone. This seems to undermine your original point a smidge. Ipswich have been planning their spending since January, same as Leicester (who are facing a poss points deduction) We've apparently signed Bobby Clark. So there's that... City have signed a right winger they don't need from a club they already own. Make of that what you will. Utd have spent £100m on two players most of us hadn't heard of until this summer. Newcastle have signed three players. Are you sure you actually read all this stuff? Forest? See my point about Chelsea. My point about Ipswich and Leicester applies to Southampton. Spurs have bought two kids. And finally, West Ham have bought a guy their new boss worked with at his old club (plus a Brazillian kid who was great a couple of Football Manager's ago) while Wolves have spent a grand total of £30m on squad fillers. If all of that is enough to cause palpitations, I suggest finding a really time-consuming hobby to keep you busy til September because it could be a long six weeks Yes, I am this bored
  13. Who asked you and your facts, eh? The internet is no place for actual information and details
  14. So who do you buy last year to guarantee that, given all we were hoping for last August was 4th? And I would argue we now have a team with a season under its belt I agree with this, although I suspect we would have got Gravenberch a year earlier if he hadn't picked Bayern
  15. Someone took our marbles? What rebuild did we need, given that three of the four players we signed were regular starters? Don't think it's overstating things to suggest that without replacements for Keita, Hendo, Fab and Milner we'd have been royally f***ed. And not in the fun way.
  16. Welcome to modern football. We should have bought world class players already, but Slott should also be allowed to assess his squad, a squad he should have assessed already and Hughes should have sorted all those deals out by now - presumably while still working at Bournemouth*. Plus we need new fullbacks, centrebacks, midfielders and at least three forwards while also having a squad that won a cup and pushed itself into a title race for three-quarters of the season. Frankly I can't believe we haven't sorted all this AND our pre-season already. It's a farce. *OK, yes, he hired Slott while clearing out his desk at the Vitality Stadium. But that's not important right now.
  17. I like this line-up. Especially when you consider Jota, Elliott, Diaz, Gravenberch, Quansah, Gomez, Jones, Bajcetic (and, in theory, Doak and Carvalho) have all not made the starting XI. I'm not saying we don't need a couple of players, but if Slott's fitness guy is as good as the stats suggest we're not in bad shape right now
  18. Define "excellent". Then apply that definition to our rivals. I'll wager no one ever has an "excellent" window. using a looser definition, we rebuilt our entire midfield last summer. That wasn't nothing.
  19. Lazy b*****d. Sack him
  20. f*** me that cat is useless You may think we've peaked, but someone will top it
  21. Pretty sure that's not the plan. Slott has wanted time to assess the squad, and anyone we're likely to want/be after has been busy at a major international tournament for the last month
  22. There we go, we've signed someone*. Put the flaming pitchforks away *Yes, an ex-Ev player as an 'assistant coach', but hey...
  23. Certainly no one is stumping up £10m for Phillips
