  1. I'd wonder why we were buying a firm of solicitors There speaks a man who doesn't watch wassernames LFC videos
  2. Your nightvision goggles. I only borrowed them
  3. He needs to scuff and mis-hit more. They're the ones that actually go in
  4. Just needs to make him a little less precise
  5. He should watch them train, watch them around the club, watch them in a game or two - and THEN talk to them on Zoom. Sorted
  6. Not the point. He should just know, from watching someone do something, how they will be able to do something else completely. I mean, if the guy can't watch someone playing for Mainz or Hull and immediately know how they will cope with an entirely different, and more technical, system then what the hell are we paying him for?
  7. But is he homegrown? You hate it Probably
  8. The supposed deal sounded.... interesting. We pay £70/75m for Gordon, Newcastle pay us £35m for Gomez. Newcastle's accountants must have been working overtime in June trying to balance the books
  9. The Carry On film we never knew we needed
  10. Have the owners actually decided this? Because in a recent interview the CEO specifically said the aim is to win trophies every year
  11. Morton Frendrup has suddenly surfaced as a link according to a couple of YouTubers
  12. He was terrible last season, to be fair. Barely noticed him playing
  13. Apparently the "meanest defence in the league" wasn't mean enough
  14. Eagle Fly Free writes itself though
  15. Not sure Edgar scans or rhymes that well
  16. So we need someone who looks good in goggles and has a name that works in a song?
  17. He's a different player to Masch or Fab. Possibly more a Gini in covering ground, keeping/recovering possession and keeping the play moving. No one is a Xabi. And Gerrard was about as defensively minded as my cat. Mac Allistair is a different type of player again, who actually plays well with Endo. I do think we get hung up on needing 'world class' players. We need good players (which Endo is), who do a good job for the team (which Endo does). He doesn't have to be amazing, as we have Dom, Macca, Mo etc for that. Taking the Betis game as proof of how the whole season will pan out, Endo fits the system well. I'm not saying we don't need a midfielder, or even a '6' sort, but - much like Gini again - I do think Endo is far better than he gets credit for. He's really good at what he does. Whether we need what he does is, of course, a whole other debate. But it's interesting that no one is coming up with names of players we should/could get. Seems to be a global shortage at the mo. I do think we're going to be looking for a second striker. Slott's comments about needing to play with 10s because we don't have a recognised striker in America suggested we're going to need a spare for the season ahead
  18. He's not injury prone, he just gets injured a lot Not if those types of players don't fit how we're going to play Plus, he played 43 games (I think) last season. Us losing a mad cup game and dropping off during the run-in wasn't down to him not being 'better' Out of interest, who's out there that you would bring in?
  19. You'd need proof. And there isn't any. Lasagne?
  20. I've told you before, you can't keep making these spurious accusations. Now shut up and eat your burger
  21. That was almost 20 years ago. Four houses, three jobs and a marriage ago. Let it go, Has. Move on. Learn to grieve and process these emotions
  22. Referee! Fish pun adjacent!
  23. Yeah, 20/21 wasn't great - we did bring in Jota and Kostas, but the January business was bats***
  24. And who owned the club at that time?
  25. I'm probably being naive here, or missing something, but other than the year we only brought in Minamino (although, we also signed Andy Lonergan, so hey - not all bad....), which windows have they ballsed up? You can make a case that 22/23 didn't address a key position (sit down, Arthur) but we still bought Nunez and Gakpo. During the Rogers era we bought some dross, sure, but we also brought in Sturridge, Bobby, Suarez - the approach needed tweaking, but at the very least we ended up no worse off at the end of each window. I'm choosing to ignore Balotelli's signing. I'm not praising FSG's work in the transfer market, but I'm just not sure it's as bad as the prevailing narrative would have us believe
