I'm not generally a straw-clutcher, but the thing about last night, the only positive I see is that City might accept a draw at some point, rather than try and batter these 2 sides. If they're accepting a draw, late in a game, anything could happen.
Nerves become a huge and real factor at this stage of a season. Think it was Ancelotti who's recently been quoted as saying that at this stage of the season it's not tactics or football decisions but what's going on in the player's heads that matters. We have more than a 50/50 chance if we win our 2 then we will be champions.
There are 2 teams in Liverpool, Liverpool and Liverpool reserves, unless City are playing at Goodison, then Everton are dead important - Bill Shankly's last audible breath
Gerrard's been dropping in as last man in every game since her moved there. This isn't new. I think Carra goes out of his way to ensure his impartiality at times. Never Sakho's fault. He took a bad touch and slipped trying to recover it. This s*** happens.
I'm won't to put too much hope into Everton as it'll kill me if they don't get anything from it. Just accept whatever hand we're dealt and control what we can control. JFW.
The stats for yesterday: •Chelsea’s pass completion of 68% is their lowest in a Premier League game since December 2005. •Chelsea only conceded 7 fouls. Only in 1 game (Palace away) have they conceded fewer this season. •226 is Chelsea’s lowest number of attempted passes in a Premier League game this season. •Liverpool had 21 shots from outside the box, the most they’ve had in a Premier League game this season. •Chelsea made only 153 successful passes; Gerrard made 96 alone. •After making only 4 crosses last week at Norwich, Liverpool made 32 in this game.
Temptation was too great to not try and get at them, like we have everyone else. They are dogs, but they are very good at being dogs. It's why Mourinho doesn't hang about at any club, the owners, fans and players can only take so much of it.
