  1. To be fair, the same group of 13/14 have played week in week out for the majority of the season, most on the back of a world cup as well. Plus I can't imagine Roy/Kelly's fitness regime to have been fantastic in the Summer. A lot of positives, take out 3/4 of your top players and you'll struggle a bit, especially combined with the tiredness factor. Also, and this may be shouted down, I think Skrtel has improved a lot over the last month. Just think Roy's tactics didn't suit his style of defending. Back three formation has helped all of them a lot.
  2. Lucas Kuyt Carragher
  3. 1333 would be more Bielsa.
  4. 12 pts behind 4th. Even if Chelsea/whoever lose those 4 games, that's dependent on us winning all our games. No chance.
  5. Apparently Spurs have two goalkeepers on the bench tonight. Must REALLY not trust Gomes.
  6. Stoke are playing 4-5-1. If we manage to concede with a situation of 5 v 1 at the back, it'll be a new low.
  7. Makes sense. Have 3 against 2 at the back, give Agger licence to roam forward with Aurelio and Lucas providing cover from deep. Then have Gerrard and Meireles running from deep as Stoke will be playing with a massed defence. Should be interesting.
  8. JimmyRiceWriter Jimmy Rice by neiljjonesReliably informed Liverpool playing 5-3-2 with Aurelio in central midfield alongside Lucas and Gerrard. So: Reina Kelly Johnson Skrtel Kyrgan Agger Gerrard Lucas Aurelio Meireles Kuyt
  9. Back three then? Although, where would Kelly figure in that? Agger might be playing left back with Johnson on the wing.
  10. Apologies. My Bad.
  11. Unfortunately means we won't get to see Luis Suarez biting his face off.
  12. SSN reporting that. It's hardly going to be £30,000 a week on the 8th most expensive player in history, is it? Would imagine that getting rid of Babel's and Torres' wages and bringing in Carroll's and Suarez's is around the same. And if Andy Gray heard your b****ing and moaning then you'd be facing some sexist remarks.
  13. Since when was £80,000 p/w modest?
  14. Then you need a better calibre of player than Andy Carroll or Charlie Adam to turn over a 9 pt deficit with Chelsea having a game in hand.
  15. Crouch certainly is. To be fair, I just pulled those three out of my hat. I just think that you can get someone in to do a job for sixth months in a season where we're not going to do much more than 5th/6th place and then spend the money more wisely, rather than just surrendering to this madness. I think a lot of people are just desperate for us to spend money for the sake of it, I'm not doubting the guy has potential and is a decent player, but he's not-professional and has one decent half season under his belt. Like I said, I'd be delighted to be completely wrong about him.
  16. Will happily be proved wrong, but I think this deal will be a massive mistake. Who can we sign? Well considering Spurs are in talks with Rossi, Forlan and Luis Fabiano (reportedly) any of them? Or the fact that Newcastle seem to be taking Crouch on loan, him. Or maybe I'm not a professional scout and it isn't my job to actually find the player.
  17. I'm not debating whether we have the money or not, for f**k sake, I'm saying that for £35m you can get a whole lot more player than Andy Carroll.
  18. And get a better striker cheaper in the Summer? Definitely.
  19. We just spent £35m, which means we have £35m less. Simple maths. But don't worry, we're spending £14m on Charlie Adam too.
  20. Then we don't have £70m to spend on players who are good and not c***s.
  21. It means we don't have £35m to spend on 3-4 quality young players actually, possibly more.
  22. Carroll's injured and we're not signing Ashley Young.

  24. Does anyone legitimately think that FSG have given Kenny Dalglish £35m to go out and get his target Andy Carroll when he's an interim manager on a 5 month deal? God knows whose sanctioning this deal, it's absolute madness. The thought of spending £40m on Andy Carroll is worse than losing Torres, imo.
