Rumours on a geordie website about him being in trouble with the law. Won't repeat them here for obvious reasons. Sure you can all find them if you want.

Anyone know if there is any truth in them?

Not good if we're looking to flog him.

He is practically valueless in cash terms anyway.

Hopefully no truth in these rumours nonetheless.

He's been one of Sunderlands best players this season I thought. (not hard, I admit.) Was expecting a couple of million at least though.

I doubt we'd get more than 1m and I'd be made up with that.

I can't really see how he's been one of their best players when he's only started 16 games for them and played in 32 total (coming off the bench in 16 games), if he's struggling to get into a very, very poor sunderland side I can't see much hope of us getting much for him!

hes much better than the schite they have and doesnt suit their style of football

Everytime I saw him play for Sunderland, he always seem to get into good positions. They should have played him behind the striker or on the right more often I feel, not upfront as a target man.

I don't buy that argument, in fact I'm sick to death of hearing it. A good player should stand out and show quality no matter what "style" of play they're under. Smacks of the whole "Cisse" not being played to his strengths debacle. Football really is a simple game, as the great man says. If a player is going to spit the dummy or if it is beneath him because he is played out of position (within reason) or the style of play doesn't suit them, then he is not for us.

no he doesnt.. play Carragher as a rightback and hes not as good a player as he is as a centreback.. silly argument really.. look at the first touch of LeTallec and that of the rest of the Sunderland team bar Arca and hes a million miles better than them.

As for being for us or not.. those who were at Anfield last season against Juve saw what he could do..

no it's not really...play carra as a right back in a poor team and he will still stand out, cause he that good

those who were at Anfield last season against Juve saw what he could do..

and those who saw all his other games, saw what he can't do. not on a nearly consistent basis anyway

he's not good enough, thanks ant but bye bye

rumour has it hes off to lyon for 1m

I think had he not pissed off Rafa or went to somewhere like Wigan instead he'd be getting more praise

whether he would be good enough is debatable but his link play is what we need, its the goals tally that

would let him down here, I think he would be similar to morientes

he is still their top scorer with 5 from 14 starts and 10 sub appearances. next best is 4 from 39 starts.

sunderland are just piss poor. in a better team he would be a decent attacking midfielder/second striker, what he wont be is the player who will win us a title. Thats the reason why he should go.

thats better than or equal to Morientes - sometimes I feel we should sell morientes and try Le Tallec there,

I dont think he would be worse

Didn't he andCisse link well together in the Pre Season Matches.

May be they both need the Wenger touch.

A nice swap with Henry would be nice.

Carra has shown he is capable of playing anywhere along the back as well as midfield, and he did it with LFC, not the crappiest prem club ever to be shat into the first division (ie Sunderland). Carra would be their highest scorer if he played for Sudnerland as a striker. That's just class and pure ability. Gerrard is the ultimate example of top quality footballing adaptablity. Sure, not all players are that capable, but cream rises to the top no matter which perfumed bath or sewer you pour it in.

I'll see yours and raise you one.

Le Tallec's problem isn't his first touch, it's his attitude. It takes more than a bit of talent to be a world class footballer, and on more than one occasion. He can't make an impression for a bottom of the table club, how is he going to make it at Anfield?

Any clues as to where to find it... not been able to find anything!

I completely disagree.

I think that some players, no matter how good or skillful they are, require others to bring them into the game. Le Tallec is hardly a player that is going to impose himself on the game. He's the type of player that is only going to be as good as the players around him simply because he relies on them to bring him into the game. For example, if you're a striker, it doesn't matter how intelligent your runs are or how good you are at finishing, unless you are played the ball where you want it you won't score goals. Whilst that example is not really applicable to Le Tallec and his abilities, I don't think that you can say for certain that if you put a good player in a crap team that they will perform well.

Can someone just imply what he has allegedly done? Does it involve an unwilling girl and the phrase "forced himself on her"? Was he caught POSSIBLY inhaling an unnamed powdry substance? Come on, give us a clue.

I wouldn't worry about it. It was obviously bollx. They said he'd been arrested, If it was true it would have been confirmed by now, these things just aren't kept quiet.

Nope, it was alledged he was in a fight, but see above. Clearly bollx.

I disagree. All quality players must have played at one time or another for a crap team and proved they were better than the rest. How else would they develop? Le Tallec has not stood out at all, and to say he needs good players around him to play well (not that I agree) that's a cop out if he really believes that.

Le Tallec is the type of player who provokes lengthy discussions on messageboards as to whether they are any good or not, should we keep them or sell them. Danny Murphy was an excellent example from the recent past.

I think we should only keep players who are obviously worth their place in the side. Nobody argues whether Gerrard or Carragher are any good.

If you pack your team with Murphys and le Tallecs, you will end up like Aston Villa. :o
