So, what do you guys think about Riises goal. Was he trying to bend it around the wall, or just trying his luck (in that the wall would split up)? If the chelsea wall had stood, it would have been a pretty poor effort, wouldn't it? Not slagging anyone off, just curious what he was thinking there.

I was thinking about this but can't really tell - wasn't really wide enough to be an attempt at curling and was nowhere near high enough to be trying to go over

its was a pretty typical riise shot in that it was destined to hit the wall.

 

differences where it wasn't blasted so chelsea didn't run out and close him down and he got lucky with it going thru the wall.

 

 

much prefer that he tries to place them tho.

Think it was moreso the element of suprise, I think the Chelsea wall expected a blast so decided to break and charge down the shot.

 

It good to see a variety in our free kicks, instead of just laying it off and hitting it with maximum power. Almost reminds me of Didi's effort against Leverkusen last season. Everyone was expecting Didi to blast it and instead chipped it over the wall into the near post.
