Stanley Leisure Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Got a few weeks off at the mo, while i find myself a job, and thought it might be a good idea to get fit again after several years of inactivity. I was always quite fit, despite a bit of excess flab, having played rugby fairly regularly - but i'm now getting to a point where the weight is harder to shift so i'm watching what i eat, forgoing booze for a while, given up smoking etc... Anyway - Just been for a run in the local park and it fecking nearly killed me - managed about 25 mins sporadic running, stopping to push my lungs back down my gullet, every now and then. So without shelling out for a gym membership (i'll never go), can any of you point me in the right direction to building up fitness so i don't feel like i'm under the threat of an imminent heart attack.
