Barca Vs. Real

I'm going to Barcelona at the start of April. A mate has organised tickets for the Barca/Real game. Obviously i want to go but he's just mailed me to say that they are in the Real 'end'. I've been to the game before and while the atmosphere is exceptional I'm not certain i want to be at the business end of that kind of abuse.

Are the Real travelling fans [what number there are] still the lovers of Franco that i encountered a couple of years ago at the Malaga-Real game. Having to deal with the abuse from Barca fans is one thing. Trying to avoid going crazy when Barca score will probably be more difficult.

why would you get abuse? You be wearing Barca kit?

Ha! no but I know if/when Barca score it will be difficult to keep quite. I saw Real play Malaga a couple of years ago [i'm a season ticket holder at Malaga] and we bumped into a deeply unpleasant group of right wing Real fans before the game. Hassle isnt part of having fun at football games.

I saw this fixture at the Bernabeu and got tickets from a tout on the day. Weren't that much over the odds. I'd do that before sitting with the hardcore Madrid support.

Its at the Nou Camp though!. I can just see it now. 90,000 Barca fans laugh, while 300 Madrid fans kick the sh!te out of a stupid Irish bloke...

Not been but from what I've heard that will be interesting to say the least. I think the 300 or so Madrid fans are normally kept in the stadium and then bused out once the crowd has gone.

Definitely go to a tout and sit in the Barca end. You'll have a good laugh trying to get tickets anyway, wear your Liverpool shirt and mention how s*** Chelsea are. They won't be able to do enough for you...

Its what i'm going to do but my mate who has gone to an awful lot of trouble to get the tickets will not be best pleased.

I was talking to a couple of other friends of mine who are Barca fans and went to the game on Wednesday. They were distinctly unimpressed with the whole vibe around Chelsea. THere conclusion; you just cant buy class...
