Recommended Pubs with decent beer & Food in Central London

Anyone have any recommendations? I know of the Porterhouse, but need to check if they serve food Sundays. Kew doesnt count Probably

the chandos - just by trafalgar sq, at the national gallery/charing X road corner - does a good sunday dinner upstairs. it can get quite busy there, so booking might be an idea.

The Eagle on Farringdon Road is excellent - great nosh. Not sure about Sundays but I am sure it's Googleable

I know the Eagle ( and its very good for food), and more central than that ideally.

the Marquess of Anglesey opposite the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden does good basic, cheapish (for London) food. Top quality beer as well.

 

Although any link with YNWA may get you barred after we refused to leave at chucking out time one night a year or so back.

So you'd recommend it ? Must say, last time i was down there i didn't notice it ! I like that area.

not sure that would be open for sunday lunch (i may be wrong). last time i was there, the food was overpriced and all my eating companions got violently ill from the oyster entrees.

Yes I would, but even better is the Barnsbury on Liverpool Road, in Islington. Excellent food.
