4 cds...got this weekend...working way through it now...what a joy....band tighter than a gnats chuff and belting versions of:

 

knock on wood

a whiter shade of pale

my sweet lord

love the one youre with

 

as well as soul standards and their hits.

is this a new release? when was it recorded? sounds fantastic.

It is brilliant.

 

I got it about 6 months back and it's impossible not to tap your foot to.

 

It's a relatively new release - a single CD version of the best of the 4 nights was released aeons back but to pull all four nights together onto one collection had not been done.

when i posted this i hadnt even got to the Aretha stuff...

 

f*** me she is something else altogether....takes the whole thing to a different level....outstanding stuff....her first run through Dr Feelgood is music at it finest....lump in throat majesticness.

I think one of the versions of "whiter shade of pale" thats on these cds is the one used in "withnail & I".....thats oneof youre favourite films isnt it herb??
