Question?

I posed the question some time ago why there is not a boycott of shops that stock the rag who's name we shall not mention in Liverpool. At the time I was told there could be something along those lines in the offing.

Since then there doesn't seem to have been any movement on that score. With the current publicity that the Rooney thing is getting, would now not be a time to make such a move?

A boycott of the retailers isn't feasible, all papers on mersey side are distributed by two companies one takes care of the Mirror Group and the other distributes the rest.

In the immediate aftermath of the S*n's story many news agents refused to stock the paper, WH Smith threatened them with not providing them with any papers if they refused to stock The S*n.

I see your points but as Jon has suggested why do they have to display them? They could leave them out back.

And besides, pressure could be brought to bare on WH Smith. If people were unable to get any paper for a few days people would ask the question why? I'm fairly sure that WH Smith or whoever the distributor is would not be long in backing down.

No self respecting person will be buying it anymore anyway.

I think the problem could be the youth of today growing up. They dont have this etched as firmly in their mind as most. That problem will grow and grow as the years go on and that is why awerness of this issue needs to be increased to combat this occurance.
