Stanley Leisure Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 is f*cking ballache isn't it? Made an offer on a place which is over-valued by about 40k - the current asking price is 30% more than they paid three years ago and they want 'offers over'. I went in 25k under, which we then bumped up by 10k when that was rejected. Day after, the agent asks me to bid more, but I said I wouldn't consider doing anything until we'd had clarity on our improved offer. The agents have repeatedly said the vendors are 'crunching the numbers" and waiting to hear back on a property they like but that vendor is away. The details on this have changed a bit every time I have spoken to them, which makes me think it’s all stagecraft to try and panic us into increasing our offer. I'm not even sure they even took our offer to them, it's all very weird and vague and has been going on since last saturday. Dunno what to do. Plan currently is to just not contact them for 24 hours and see if they come back to us, but we have a very motivated buyer for our place and need to get it sorted asap. Last exchange we had, I just said we would think about it but that we had another property in mind (which is half true). Worth calling the agent's bluff or go back with a bit more dough to get it over the line?
