did personal training on the beach today

in the boxing/pads part, the f***** was hitting me back whenever I dropped my guard; nobody told me about that part

what's that you say? "well keep your guard up then"

YOU try not dropping your hands after 4 x 3 minutes of throwing punches constantly

are there any rags-to-riches/comeback stories here?

inspiring tales of fatties becoming ripped in a few weeks is what I'm after

this personal training thing is a winner; am doing stuff I could never do on my own and it's H.I.T. all the time, which works fast

on the down side, I'm made to look like a chump for most of each session

There was a recent publication about (a small number, I think about ten men) who were put on 300cals a day and walked 8 hours a day. They lost about 5kg each and a year later had only put on I think just left than half of it again - which is actually a very good result in this field.

yep, all you need to do is starve yourself and do nothing but walk all day :wacko:/>

Yep. Eat less. Move more.

Genuinely surprising too that they kept off more about half the weight they lost in four days over a year later. Diets - especially of the dramatic sort - almost never show that people keep off any weight over a decent period.

To be fair there was quite a bit more to the study too in terms of effects on insulin sensitivity, glucose, triglyceride and cholesterol levels, leptin level, effect on cortisol etc etc etc

Going with a simple "Sweat. Every day"

Ran today and Tuesday, Rowing machine yesterday. Track cycling Wednesday, Bike Rollers on Monday and tomorrow I am doing 100km on the bike.

Not so long that I can't get out of bed and do something tomorrow. Absent a specific goal which is what I've used in the past to get me moving (eg training for a marathon) I am trying to go with the target of something daily

Aren't you in the seniors subbuteo league now?

Anny Road is the one you want to speak to Molby

just to be clear, because he's a fattie that might decide to get in shape, or because he already has?

I guess he has hasn't he? that must be why he doesn't come on here anymore - thinks he's too good for us now

you've done it too haven't you?
