Restrictive Covenant

I work for an IT company which outsources me out to small businesses in order to manage and maintain the clients IT systems. One of the clients is planning on expanding - near enough doubling the capacity in the next year or two.

They have approached me and have asked me to apply for a full time position as an IT Operations Manager, they want me to maintain & manage there current systems as I do now but also get the business ready and put plans in place for future IT systems, which will possibly include getting a part-time technician to assist me.

In my current contract with the company I work for they have a put in restrictive covenant in place.

“Whether alone or in conjunction with or on behalf of any other person or firm or company for a period of 4 months following the termination of my employment canvass, solicit or approach or cause to be canvassed, solicit or approached, deal or contract with any person or company with whom I have had dealings during the last 6 months of my employment for the purpose of offering goods or services similar to those provided by the company to such person, firm or company.”

Can I apply for the job?
