Was put to death last night, as I'm sure you know

 

But does anyone know why he was sentenced to death for one of the murders in particular (Dean Harold Meyers)?

 

Why specifically Meyers? Did he not get convicted for the other 9 murders?

 

The Beeb article here says he and his accomplice killed 10 people, but all the reports specifically say it was the Meyers murder that give him the death penalty.
