What did he ring them for? Went to a CBS as well. Had a youngish Christian Brother as principal and two others as teachersnfor my first year. By the time I left they had all been retired/moved on.

At this juncture I would like to point out that I was educated (I know I am dicing with ridicule here) by several priests and served under many - in the ecumenical sense - and was not molested in any way.

 

One Priest did break quite a large candle over my head - but that was partially justified as I was f***ing about on the altar.

Just watching Vinny Browne, the biggest thing that comes out of this report that I didn't really know is that these schools were basically a slave ring. We had the same amount of children in these industrial schools as Britain despite our population being less than 3.5m and Britain's over 50 million. One woman on the show was taken off the street at the age of 3 and charged with the crime of "wandering the street". They used these schools to support the lavish lifestyles of the Christian Brothers.

 

It's heartbreaking listening to this. This went to the highest level, everyone knew what was happening. It really is the greatest shame in the history of the nation.
