Going this evening - in a box and all that, free booze and food.

So obviously I'm going, just wondered if I should interrupt the drinking to listen to the act.

My gutfeel told me "no", but I thought I'd better check with the general forum experts.

That at the o2?

How the f*ck he can get a 20,000 seat venue is beyond me.

I think half the problem is that his ITV show really doesn't do hm any favours. I've seen him live and he was excellent within the parameters of the character, but it is a failry limited character and a 20,000 seater is ridicuous. When I saw him it was the initimacy with the audience that made it work.

Aye.

He's doing 2 nights there.

Only going to see what the o2 is like - supposed to be a good venue.

Oh and for the free bar and food.

i agree.

i've seen him a couple of times live. first time i went with very low expectations. he's very quick on his feet and engages the audience better than any other comedian i've seen.

just one of those characters that doesn't seem to work on tv.

No, I passed on that one - which I have since realised was a mistake.

exactly - the scripted, set-piece routines were by far the weakest part of the live act - when he was bantering with the audience he was brutally quick and funny.
