The batting was the major weakness last season, VVS Laxman has been signed and now Ashwell Prince has been signed on a short term contract to cover for VVS while he plays in the IPL.

Possible signings: Were keen to get Muttiah Muralitharan for another spell as overseas player - though probably only available on a short-term deal.

There were rumours that Peter Moores may take over as coach from Watkinson, who has been moved upstairs as Director of Cricket.

This season Liverpool CC will host the Twenty20 game against Leicestershire on Monday June 22nd.

Liverpool will also host the county championship game against Hampshire, Wednesday June 17th - Saturday June 20th.

Here's hoping for a much improved season than last. Even though it does not start till April 19th.
