An odiously self-important, at times deeply unpleasant and someone who was almost always wrong about everything but I know a couple of people who worked with him on the Observer and earlier when he was a government Minister who despite all that have nothing but good to say about him.

 

For some reason, I always think of Thatcher when I think of him so maybe its a sign that she'll have a stake rammed through her heart sometime over the christmas.

 

RIP sorta.
