Boxing - did PPV kill it or make it better?

For me, once PPV came in - that was the end of my watching Boxing - even freely televised events.

 

I was at one time mildly interested (to the extent of staying up til some stupid times to watch some of the big evens in New York and Las Vegas and the like).

 

Now, however, that PPV has come in - I think (for me anyway) it's lost its sheen. Knowing you'd only really get to see the scraps from the table - and you'd miss the big events without shelling out £15 or whatever it is - made it instantly uninteresting - I wasn't interested enough to pay extra - and I certainly wasn't interested enough to watch a delayed event (I even hate watching football delayed).

 

How has it affected other people? Do you pay for PPV often/ever? Are you still interested/more interested in boxing - are you happy enough to watch delayed fights?
