Thinking of giving up the rat race ...

.... Me and the wife have been talking and we fancy moving to Scotland with the family - can't really afford to but I'm pissed off working in London so we're going to take a chance in the next year or so...

 

So, I have a question of planning permission....

 

Say I find a plot of land I'm interested in and I want to stick a new build 2 or 3 bedroomer on there.

 

The land has Outline Planning permission that says a house can be built, but there's no 'detail' at this stage. How do I minimise the risk between commiting to buy the land before I'm sure we'll be allowed to build on it? I can't afford to risk £30K or whatever on a field I can't build on ....

 

Anyone with experience in this area?
