The pub we drank in has finally and totally gone! Shanks' Bar, up the road from the Oakie, finally gasped its last when it was burned to the ground a week or so ago. It had been going downhill ever since the people who lived next door abandoned their house. The robbers would break in the derelict house, smash through the walls of the pub and rob everything in there. It happened seven times we heard and the new manager had finally had enough when they robbed the lead off his roof! It had been derelict for a while now but the final nail was hammered into the coffin last week and I got several texts from regulars in there RIP-ing it's demise!

 

So we're looking for somewhere else. Any recommendations?
